DM rumours of a recall in January strengthened by the FA Cup omission
JB rumours of big bids in January
RC maybe off for other reasons
Hopefully we are planning for all eventualities

If the recall was a possibility in the deal, then the management will be fully aware.
If we get big money for Berry - who is outstanding atm but only really a 45min player for us - then I'd expect an incoming more or less immediately.
As with Colclough, January is only around the corner for players to come in

What I've heard ties Berry with Markanday, and Blackburn trying to arm twist a better deal. How true that is, I haven't a clue.

They did pay that for him but he's barely featured, when he does its fleeting sub appearances, since doing so then farmed out on loan to a League 2 club in the final year of his contract. He may attract some League 1 interest but the flip side is you cannot underestimate the importance it could play that he is already with us, seems to be enjoying his time and the Paul Cook factor which does seem to play a big part in some players joining us.
As far as i know there hasnt been any talk of a January recall until folk have decided that the fact he wasnt allowed to play v Horsham means he is going back.

If we are doing well and in with a chance of promotion come Jan, I can see a world where we take a punt on DM with a decent fee. Or another world where he is part of a deal that sees Berry head to the North West. Blackpool, West Brom & others also watching Berry

I think you underestimate the pull of the dollar for players. We have won over a number of players by offering superior terms (length of contract) -I can not see us out bidding lower Championship and more wealthy League one clubs when it comes to wages and contracts for such a lamented lad.
Most commentators are saying its significant that he wasnt allowed to play, not necessarily that he would be going back. What it means we will see.

Hardly played for his parent club, and in the last year of his contract. On the other hand we have Berry, who goes from strength to strength and has a load of interest.

Lad has barely played in recent seasons and now getting regular action....i can see that being a big pull for any further move he may make. I cant see him being recalled to play for Blackburn, he will only be recalled for another move and unlikely to be for another loan move unless its a FFP wangle like Kabby initially going on loan to Peterborough for a move to be completed later on. He's only going to go on loan to League 1 if Blackburn want to offer him a new contract and want him to develop more which doesnt appear likely.
Any fee they are likely to get for him in January will be tiny at best anyway.....he's half a season left on his contract and not played much recently until his loan spell with us. What they paid for him doesnt come into it really.

If that's the case, I'd take that deal all day long
Not always possible regardless of our owners having a bob or two, Financial Fair Play (or whatever its called these day) to stick to.

Control / sphere of influence.
I do mind what happens with our players. These days there is no doubt in my mind that we will do The best for the club with any deals that may or may not appear.
Worry not !

There may not be any talk of him going back but I think it is fair to assume Blackburn are keeping there options open. They are probably still hoping to recoup some of his transfer fee. Is there any other reason why they'd stop him playing if indeed they did?

Bear in mind Blackburn still have a years option on him for next season so certainly won?t be in any rush to sell. I?d imagine they?ll be trying to increase his value further by finding him a good L1 loan for the second half of the season.

Player movement is down to a number of things. Fee offered compared to length of contract remaining. A player wanting to move on. Management looking to do a bit of business with the intention of trying to improve the squad. Financial state of a Club. Etc.
What will be will be. Markanday will be on a good wage at Blackburn so he would look to negotiating some form of financial settlement before agreeing to any move. Blackburn might want him off the books so could try and recoup any financial settlement in the transfer fee or suggest the buying club covers that through a fee. Markanday will have an agent who will then be looking for the best deal he can get for him at a different club. Markanday himself might have a preference as to where he moves. So there are a number of ducks to line up before we have a chance of signing him.
Berry will have ambition. He is not the finished article. Has 18 months left on his contract. If clubs start a bidding war it could be a good time to sell. The longer it goes into next season the closer he will be to being able to walk away for free.
We have a number of fringe players which includes some who did well in the NL but hardly getting a kick now or are returning from injury. It is probably these players who could move out to create space for further squad strengthening.

Markanday is a loan player whose future is out of our hands.
Berry is a promising talent but yet to perform consistently.
Colclough has featured sparsely over the last year or more through injuries
And most of all Paul Cook has repeatedly and consistently improved the squad with pretty much every signing.
You really should let this petty little sniping campaign go. I'd say you were humiliating yourself, but everyone knows that was established a long, long time ago ..

As for Berry, we have taken him from the 7th tier to alleged intrest from from tier 2. The development fee for Berry would be very close to, if not excede what we paid Macc, so should he go before his contract expires or stays, we will not be out of pocket.
