The guy who used to come on the pitch at saltergate and do the h.t.draw.Who was he?the funny bit was if he drew a '0' it would be Zeeroaaar!it may have been the Darren Brown days.i remember it was always so obvious he was on the fiddle too due to there being a really decent crowd and he would announce the prize money as a 'staggering'.....?11.50!!!
Hence the nickname Mr Zero

That was indeed his name WS and that was about as much as I knew of him or even wanted to know.

He'd got scabby scroat written all over him. I wouldn't have a life jacket from him on a sinking ship.

He was trying to make some wedge, simple as that.

At our little neighbours, then us, then probably somewhere else.

The Club's attitude at the time was 'we're getting half (?!?) for nowt so we don't care'.

How far we've come since such amateurish days...

God that was a long time ago, I remember him in the mid-90s, even before the Darren Brown era.

That's not a long time ago. A bloke walking round the pitch with a board on his shoulders displaying winning raffle numbers written in chalk, is, or seems to be.

I reckon he was early mid 90s

Remember him doing it at Field Mill and then having prizes like a dozen eggs! He then tipped up at Saltergate and got dogs abuse!

Anybody remember buying a ticket that you opened up. It had a players number on and the minute.

If you had the exact match of those which matched up with the first goalscorer of the game then you won all the money?

they used to run onto the pitch at half time at the kop end from under the stand with the drum and stop the goalkeeper to make the draw as he went towards the tunnel

I remember those being sold at the bottom of the steps leading up to the kop at Saltergate.
A small square envelope with the top and sides being crimped together which you had to tear off to open up.
Golden Goal tickets they were called.
