What did folk make of it, personally I thought it wasn't too bad, it did add a little to the build up, what I would say is, it's needs a decent backing tune adding to it, it sounded like faithless, insomnia which was being played, but that got drowned out by clips of commentary, bin that off and just play the tune, insomnia or Darude, Sandstorm then it would proper add ..

It only works if the music is somehow in sync with the lights. Personally I thought it was crap but each to their own if they thought it added anything to the 'event'.

For a first attempt I thought it was very good.
Shows just how good the new lights are.

I expected very little. I got what I expected. Naff.

The only other light show I saw was at Chelsea when we played in the cup. That made sense as it was just before the players came out and was more dramatic plunging whole stadium into darkness etc

It was better than the one at Droylsden.
These go to eleven.

The Droylsden lights only have 2 settings don't they, dim or off?

When it initially started i thought we were going to get the lights flashing to Insomnia and thought it would be good, agree with the others that the commentary over the top wasnt needed. It just needs to be a few up beat tunes and go from there. The one i saw at Sunderland was that, started off with a bit of an intro to say it was starting which is a nod to the lighthouse on Roker Beach then they have the lights flashing to their build up music which is the same every game.

Think they need to start with sorting out a playlist then add the lights to it if it's possible . The lights are better to see the pitch that's the over all reason for the better lights

In terms of what they are there for, the lights are a clear improvement. In fact when they were only half on I said to my lad (who wasn't born when we left) that that was still brighter than the old Saltergate lights.

The one at Arkwright pit was better than the four at the Rec, and that wasn't on the telly, mind you nor were we, to come to think of it😁.

To me it was like someone was randomly turn some of the bulbs on and off. It needs to be lights pulsating to the beat of the music.

Think the commentary could work as an intro to the lights tho , fade the lights out , have a few clips of some commentary over some music then start the light show in sync with a decent run out track and have the players come out as the lights are still going off , we really need a better run out song than mr blue sky tho , such a dull song.

Why not show the clips as video on the big screen?

The awful commentary over the lights was awful and I wasn't over impressed with the so called light show either. Definitely needs more work on it but without the commentary please!!

Yeah I thought that too. Plus it?s not like it went dark is it , it would have added to it if the lights had gone out completely in some parts of it. Maybe they were scared about health and safety 😂 Needs a little work but it could be a good thing.

Light show was decent.
Needed some music to fit with it but didn?t hate the commentary.
But then for some reason the lights came on and a real naff tune came on and atmosphere went flat again.

Should the light show not happen as the players come out?

They would have been OK with fireworks in the background. Good attempt but wasn't overly impressed. The electric averting hoardings around the pitch would have made it better but I hated the ones at Derby.I sarthe Blades ones once and they were great. It could work as the players come out to Mr Blue Sky.

Going back to the days of Roy Mcfarland and Lee Richardson, the club trialled (I think it lasted 2 games) some run out music by Darude () followed by the main theme from Star Wars. I'll try and find the CD although I suspect it hasn't aged well!
