All credit to Tyrone tonight in difficult conditions I thought he did really well in his first start this Season. Clean sheet says it all and Grimes also looked solid when he came on. Araujo is some find for us also.

No need to be playing Naylor back in Defence. Get him into midfield where he belongs

could not agree more, williams did not let us down and never does, like all lower league players he has a mistake in him but it's usually an honest mistake if you get what i mean, i thought he did great and agree about grimes too, his first challenge on hudlin was to say "hello i'm here to look after you" and he did, good to see em both and fully agree that this gets our best midfielder back to his best position.

Araujo is a Rolls Royce of a centre half at this level. And yep all centre halves did well

In a very scatty game, especially early on, we defended very well. Decent all round unit

This kid is class! He has a huge future?.shame Tanton has struggled with a few injuries, as he is one of the best right backs I?ve seen

should we add how cook is being brave with his subs this season, some like to point out how predictable he is but not for the 1st time this season he has made changes in the back 4 later in games, something rarely done in football at any level (unless injury forced).

We truly have a hugely talented squad?.with players like Williams & Grimes struggling to get in the first team?.but when they come on, they look solid.
That header Grimes did on Hudlin?.smash ?I?m here bitch?

Not wishing to put a downer on the positive performance from the defensive players coming in but Newport were woeful.

Williams and Grimes did their jobs as you would expect but the game was very poor on the whole and Newport offensively were shocking.

Very well played to the entire defence, and the keeper too. Agree with the mentions for Williams and grimes who were both excellent

It shows how much confidence the manager has in Araujo that he played on the right of defence which allowed Grimes to play on his better side. Didn?t look out of place at all. Really good to have him

Tyrone did very well last night, enough to overlook his woeful distribution though?

Grimes did very well as well when he came on, his head has stayed high throughout his limited opportunities this season, when he could have thrown his toys out from being ever present last season. Great to see him flatten the gigantor and if you notice his pass started off the move for the second goal.

Cheltenham, Salford & Gillingham were all crap when we played them too, but we didn?t win because we couldn?t keep a clean sheet in those games. Sometimes you have to give credit where it?s due, and the lads at the back did what they needed to do last night. It finished 0-3, but if we?d have conceded during that 15 min spell Newport had in the 2nd half when it was backs against the wall for us we could well have lost. Instead, the defence stood up to it and dealt with what came their way, and we then picked them off towards the end.

It was good to see them both being very solid and doing what was needed of them. I also enjoyed Jacobs' contribution for the second goal; another one who seems to have been written off by some.

Not by me, I think Mike Jacobs is a class act, and some of his play goes unoticed, a bit like Will Grigg.
As for Jamie Grimes and Tyrone Williams, I wasn't there, but by the sounds of it, they did well, and I'm pleased for them both.

I would be sticking with Williams for Tuesday and moving Naylor back into midfield. I know at some points we?ve had to put square pegs in round holes but I don?t see the point in doing it purely for the sake of it.

If it?s Grimes or Williams, it?s Grimes every single day of the week for me. People may say they don?t like the sound of two left footed cb?s if it?s him and Araujo, but no one ever bats an eye lid at two right footed cbs. Same difference

I was there on Friday and I thought Williams was immense. At half time I had him as my MOTM.
Grimes didn't put a foot wrong when he came on and I'm sure I saw him make a forward pass !

I agree,I think both Tyrone Williams and Jamie Grimes are more than ok for this level.
