I suspect that's why he's in and out of the team at the moment, because of his overall contribution to a game.

If what you say is true, then he'll have to settle for being an impact sub, when we're chasing a goal. Else leave.

However, I remain hopeful that his age is not a barrier to learning, and learning fast, and that he has the burning desire to better himself.

Berry is a lad that needs constant encouragement. He is still young and has time to learn. Which he can do with Cook. For me at the moment he is along way behind Colclough? and so needs to take the chances when they arrive.

I know it won?t happen, but I?d like him to be allowed to play with freedom ?. First touch forward and run at defenders.

I agree , let him do what comes natural, I personally think colclough and berry both struggle for 90 just play both on the left at some stage in the game and just tell them to attack

Berry has started off the season on fire?he?s bound to be singled out as a threat & you have to credit the opposition for not giving him the space he normally gets.
You stand off him & he runs at you as serious threat?the Notts defender/midfield never gave him an inch of space.
He has to learn to adapt to that way teams playing against him to make him even better.
Colclough on the other hand has that ability to recognise how he?s being marked & adapts?he starts getting closed down quick, he drops off & makes space for himself, he?s an intelligent player?should be starting from now on

Colclough operates in a completely different way compared with Berry. He actually draws his marker close to him, slows down to a walk or even a standstill, then rapidly accelerates when his marker is back on his heels. He can go either left or right, which is why he is so effective as they don't know which way he'll go. Berry has a lot of maturing to do before he gets anywhere near Colclough's level.

One of the obvious things for us it that Colclough should start and Berry come on as sub, not the other way round. Dunno,if it?s fitness, but Cooky should surely see this.

I'm starting to think along the same lines with respect to Markanday and Dobra. My '3' would be Colclough, Markanday, Mandeville.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Dropping Dobra is a bold call.

As much as I rate Mandeville, can?t see him getting in the first choice 3, would be Colclough, Dobra and Markanday for me - with Berry, Jacobs and Mandeville (and possible Banks) as back up / subs

Totally agree. Colclough, Dobra and Markandy are comfortably the best '3'.
