Not unsurprisingly, their manager thinks rather differently:
Sadler confirmed he received an apology from the match referee Sebastian Stocksbridge, who appeared to miss a clear foul on substitute Jamie Jellis with moments to go in the game.
?It?s a stonewall penalty that we should have at the end, and I also think from what I?ve been told, although I can?t say because I haven?t seen it myself, it looks like it was onside for the one that Connor (Barrett) scores,? Sadler fumed.

their manager wants to realise that our defence switched off as soon as they realised the offside flag had been raised so the ball hitting the net was only a sort of token gesture

even the kop gave the usual half hearted cheer as the ball hit the net also knowing that the goal would not stand

He was offside where I was sitting in the west stand and the lino missed at least a couple of offsides as the lino there was behind play both times

It was clear from the Kop for several off sides how far off being up with play the west side lino was,but as this is usual for linos down that side it doesn't usually get much coverage.

Definitely they have been so far behind play and could this be down to fitness and lack of reading the game too

Excellent referee, echo many other thoughts on here that if you don?t notice them, they?ve done a good job. Fans turn up to watch 11 v 11 professional footballers, not a man in the middle with a power trip that wants to make it all about them.

There were over 9000 at the game and I cannot remember any screams of ?penalty?.

Then from where I was sat I was not surprised the disallowed goal was called offside.

Did anybody see this mystery penalty?

TBF 8,000 of those are hardly likely to be screaming for a penalty. Having said that I don't recall it.

On Youtube there's a version of the highlights that appears to be Official Walsall material. You'd have thought that their manager's claim that there was a penalty and a perfectly good disallowed goal would have galvanised their media team into showing them if there was owt in them.

Excellent ref, gained the respect of the players without wafting cards, fitness levels very good, on the spot to eradicate any controversy.

It wouldn't be the same without a whinge though. So did only adding 1 minute at H/T, you always get a cursory 1 minute but they were taking an inordinate time over throw ins,(why would they do this whilst having us under the cosh) were they test2ing him to see if "taking time out of the game" would be tolerated if necessary later in the game? When we got a head of steam they were quick to reverse to the dark arts, perhaps if 3-4 minutes at H/T had been added a different message may have made them think again.

In saying all that, top ref can we have him every week.

Penalty claim didn't see owt from my position but if so we're still well in credit.

I think they have been lazier than that. 2.03 mins, which seem entirely a copy of Skys highlights.
The disappointment with clubs (that is all clubs) highlights this season is there is no editing insert of other camera angles (eg behind the goal as we have shown before) or particularly extended highlights. Our ten minutes tends to show the Sky highlights, adding players coming out to the pitch (why?) and re-runs of the key incidents from the Sky highlights, with little else.

Yep.
We are still quite in the dark about how Oldaker's shot slipped in. Was it a goalkeeper howler? I think he patted it down over the line but I might be wrong.

I've got mixed opinions about the officials, yes the ref was pretty evenhanded, the linesman on the east touchline seemed to be up with play, but the man running, or should I say ambling, down the west touchline didn't keep up with play at all, and missed at least three offside decisions, which thank the football gods, that nothing came from his dawdling.

The ref clearly blew before the shot was taken.

The keeper would have seen it late but his arm was out at about a 100? angle. Probably needed to be stretched out a little more. Looked like he tried to push it out but just got it wrong.

Edit: 100 degree angle. Symbols still don't work

Oldaker would surely have gone ape if he had. He might though have tried it on and claimed a touch.
