Gonna be brutally honest. Thompson looks about as good as Boot.....but (on today's showing) neither look like top keepers in this division and definitely not in the one above!

As that's our aspiration we need to improve this area at some point in time!

May be harsh on Thompson as he could get better. Boot is a perennial NFL or number 2 keeper for me...

Tyrer was who Cook really wanted and unfortunately we didn't get him!!!!

Boot has been really good apart from a couple of dodgy moments, get him back in.

Apart from dashing out stuttering and costing us goals/chances in the last 4 games that is!!!

Bang average.

We have 2 good keepers. Sorry moaners, we can't afford Ederson or Allison.

I didn't see anyone 'begging' for Boot to be dropped. Many expected it and so it was.

Beat me to it.

Fortunately I?ve got hard skin as most of the comments have been personal rather than aimed at where they should, nor being very constructive either. Better to answer the comments made rather than looking to join the hyenas and grab a bit of flesh when the chance arises methinks.

Having trawled through today?s Walsall thread it?s the usual over optimistic nod to the boss prematch after the Saviour?s 5 changes. That changed of course as the match progresses and only when crisis point arrives at 60m (a bit earlier than usual which is progress) PC makes 4 desperate changes at which point we were more effective for a while going forward and changed a lost game into a relatively undeserved point.

At the same time let?s not overrate the opposition today: Walsall aren?t as good as Grimsby nor Donny, for instance. Can?t comment on Port Vale as it?s the only game I haven?t seen. The difference today is their manager did his homework. They were as busy as Bromley off the ball, pressed high, always seemed to be first to a loose ball and stifled any attempt to open up the game. Plus they had a decent outlet in their striker, Lowe, on loan from Stoke who they used to good effect by threading him balls on the deck through the heart of our back line which we just couldn?t handle and which is our big problem as I?ve pointed out elsewhere. We could and should have been punished much more but got out of jail regularly. Other than their LB Gordon they were no great shakes in my opinion. They were simply set up better tactically which regrettably we were too late in recognising, playing our usual laborious passing sideways and backwards with little urgency to go forward until the subs came on.

About time the management team did a bit of homework too if we?re going to progress in this league

Notice how Cook?s subs were ?desperate? today. Usually they are ?robotic?.

So, folks, how do we think Cook can make substitutions that aren?t viewed negatively? Is it possible for Paul Cook to make a composed, fluid substitution?

Liked Thomson's area domination.

The slips he made were in keeping with several others.

Watering the pitch seemed to hurt us more than them today...

Why the hell did they put so much water on ? PC needs to question the groundsman.

All those backroom staff, some may even call it 'bloated', and none of them did their homework. Thank goodness we are blessed with one of football's sharpest minds to come on here and show the path forward.

Subs made a big difference, Berry and Coco opened them up.

I'm afraid no one will ever take you seriously as its impossible to have such a negative view of Cook on any rational or logical level. You simply look like a moron.

Keeper today is 19 first game in front of thousands he commanded his area but falling over and his rolling ball kicking improved in the second half.
Why didn't berry ,colcough etc be in the starting 11 if would of been a different outcome
Glad for the point

He was 20 on 1 August and played 15 times for Northampton last season.
But, yes, he will be just fine.

Personally thought Thomson looked confident and unfazed, mistakes by others being our undoing.
