That?s the problem with pitches based purely on sand , water lifts the turf straight off as no bedded roots
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

Bit i read suggested it would be classed as them not able to fulfil the fixture so Newcastle would be sent through.

In Newcastle! If the pitch is going to be out of commission for a few weeks then they may need to switch a few games around. It shouldn't cause too many headaches in league games since they shouldn't run in to any cases where they already played the reverse fixture, but they obviously had to make a tough call with the cup game
These pretzels are making me thirsty!

They've done well there, they'll be able to afford a new pitch with plenty left over with their share of a decent St James Park attendance.

Probs wont be a full house, league cup games are often poorly attended particularly the early stages

Plus a donation from Newcastle owners.

Strange reports today - a large list of clubs who have given financial donations to them - Town hadn?t - one of 9 league clubs who hadn?t.
Loads of smaller clubs including Alfreton.

Not really sure why the list was issued though - looks like a shame list.
They are of course I aired for such events.

The river Wandle has been a flood issue since I was a lad so I think it was always going to cause a problem at some stage.

Would have been more bothered if we had donated. It?s their problem not ours

It looked exactly like a "shame list" to me. It is possible that someone has donated from our fan base, but chose to remain anonymous. I also saw a complaint that it didn't include a donation from an MK Dons fan.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

Yes it?s nice and very twee that clubs have donated of course - but it?s a business - they are insured etc.

I doubt Alfreton or Man City donated to Debenhams etc when they got flooded at the Ravenside retail area in Town last year!

Clubs shouldn?t need donations.

Remember under James Rowe the donations for the training ground video gear?

If this is the same one I've seen on twitter (with town crossed out in grey), I think it's listing clubs that people who have donated support, rather than the actual clubs themsleves.

No idea - Talk Sport did a piece on it how the clubs had all contributed and how great it was the football community was in it together (and all that b******s).

Not sure why any fan of another club would donate anything to a professional football club though?
