Boot
Tanton Arujo Dunkley Gordon
Dobra Naylor Fleck Colclough
Grigg Madden
442 why not?
subs
Thompson
Grimes
Banks
Oldaker
Mandeville
Berry
Markandy or Jacobs
Obviously there will be problems. Firstly will there be a time when everyone is fit and will Grigg and Madden ever get to play together? Also can Dobra be as effective on the right? Although he and Coco shoould be interchangeable as the latter is supposed to be right footed even though he favours the left. And finally there will be those who object to 442, but systems are overrated and interchangeable - after all it's often just a matter of 20 yards or so difference. I have never rated the system of a lone striker, unless he has the pace of Michael Owen at his peak or even Owen Doyle.

Decent side and I really want to see Araujo start with Dunkley at CB and Naylor moved to midfield - that team also works with Cook's favourite formation with Dobra, Madden and Colclough behind Grigg

Realistically I expect Grigg and Madden to rotate. That midfield though 😍

Wor I'm doing when trying to assess our potential is to figure out how many of our squad would walk in to any others'. That would be 6 : Dunkley, Fleck, Colclough, Naylor, Mandeville, Grigg. With another 1 or 2 with the potential. That's more than any other club. Ergo, we are good to go.

Because Cook won't play 442.

Reckon he's more likely to play 352 than 442 and there ain't much of that either

I can honestly say that the shouts of gerrit forrad do wind me up a tad. Some won't be happy until we go from boot to 6ft6" striker in one kick.

I tell you what makes me laugh is people who think a long ball is a crime, football is about exposing flaws in the opposition it is a game built on variables and a long pass is part of that game, I wish we did have a mobile 6 ft 5 striker who could hold a ball up , it?s a weapon we simply have not got.

Which is precisely why the gerrit forrad brigade are thickos. Might have some merit if we had a unit up top.

Shouldn't be playing ball straight up to Drummond to try hold up
Got done by long ball vs Cheltenham
Ironically, the Cheltenham long ball (or balls tonrun on to) for the goal is a pass that Drummond would thrive on

If you want to watch football that went out in the stone age, then you're welcome to it. The odd directed long pass to split a defence is great to see, but I don't want to spend my time trying to spot the ball coming back into the atmosphere, just for the ref to stop the game, while one of their defenders rolls about clutching his face as though Dirty Harry has blown him away.
