We were the best side again over 90 minutes. This time against a side that played in L1 last year. And despite the fact that we were (again) short of some of our better players and (again) had to have different combinations on the pitch.
Other 'goods'. Tanton, Markanday and Araujo are better players than we have had in the past few years. So is Gordon, although he was partly at fault for their goal yesterday. Berry is a threat whenever he gets the ball. Colclough was far too good for their fullback. Oldaker did well again. Dunkley did the CH job of heading and kicking and being strong well.
The not so good. Drummond struggled due to minimal service and being outnumbered and bullied. Boot was at fault for the goal. Naylor lost his position too often and threw Tanton with his runs down the right wing (whilst playing as a CH). It wasn't why they scored, but he was miles out of position when they did. Dobra missed a couple (again) which he ought to have put on target.
The very good. Madden getting a few minutes and looking outstanding. Madden / Colclough / Berry / Grigg / Markanday / Naylor / Mandeville / Tanton / Gordon in front of Dunkley and Araujo is a very strong side. Add in Fleck and that's a L1 side. With Dobra and more besides.
What an improvement
Another post I can only agree with, the glass half full types IMO are in the majority sensibly.Thought the few touches Madden had showed a real quality, must admit a player I never expected to be applauding in a CFC shirt.
