We don't have a starting 11 we have a starting squad. Rotations and changes will be inevitable. Banks being a good example Saturday who was left out for tactical reasons.

I do prefer Benno?s theory that he was given the day off as it was his birthday

My take on it is that last season we were successful by making numerous changes each game, probably by necessity due to the demanding schedule but it felt like it kept everyone chomping at the bit and vying for their place

Dobra is one of the only players we have who is a threat running directly at players, otherwise we end up with all the putter patter passing, I feel Mandy has been squeezed out a bit he didn?t finish last season great due to illness but is one of the most hardworking players and so versatile, imo he should have played up top against Cheltenham, or even centrally instead of metcalfe he is miles better than either of them at this stage in their careers
On current form Dobra has to be in the team. He is frightening defences to death with his direct running. His ability to win the ball back is another major attribute. Yes, at times he can be deemed to be a little selfish but I have never known a decent striker that is not. And, yes, he should have scored on Saturday but show me a player that has not let chances go begging. He is getting into positions and creating chances for himself.
If Mandeville was fit enough I would have been tempted to start him up top on Saturday but when he came on I thought he looked quite rusty and is not quite there yet. Where he fits into the team as a starter currently though is a bit of a conundrum as it is possible others are ahead of him. However, it could be a case of horses for courses and Mandy being used when we are likely to have to defend more.
I thought young Metcalfe had a decent first half but faded in the second. I am not sure Mandeville is the man for defensive midfield either. For me, if Fleck gets up to speed I feel he should be partnering Naylor in the two with Oldaker, Metcalfe & Jones as cover. Ollie Banks is better played centrally in the three in my opinion but there appears to be some good competition and options there too.

Dobra definitely needs to be starting, as he can do things that others can't. When he runs at defenders and has them in a panic he needs to release the ball. Kane Drummond got nothing for his movement in the box during the match Saturday. I think it was reported that he got thirteen touches, but we didn't utilise his pace. Dobra, Berry and Markanday seemed to bypass the young lad, and I feel this is why our manager likes to pick Michael Jacobs, because, when on his game,he delivers the ball to the right place.
Mandy seems off it at the moment, but he'll come good again, and he's another player who knows where and when to pass the ball.
Metclalfe did well in the first half, but quickly faded in the second forty-five. I would have took him off early in the second half and brought Tom Naylor into midfield.

One things for sure , if Jacob?s was offered a new deal it was a mistake, he has no place in the squad
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART
