Campbell looks to be a decent signing but I think Tanton is a level higher in terms of his all round game.

Similarly, the other Fulham lad, Aroujo, could turn out to be a gem and must be getting close to his first start.

For the 2nd week we can't blame the ref who had a reasonable game nothing too contentious, a bizarre booking of Tatton maybe, which probably caused us to lose concentration (poor by us) resulting in their goal, both sides had a shout for a pen but he was consistent. However he did breach my tolerance levels on time keeping, 7 subs, player booked for time wasting, a 3 minute shemozle after their goal, 4 'time outs' all taking a minute plus, the lost time could have cost 2 maybe 3 more attacks.

Quiz question, many moons ago yesterday's ref sent off an opponent at the B2net for an offence that I doubt any spectator witnessed. The said player later played (allegedly)for Town. Who was the player. Oh and we lost 1-0 the goal coming in added time

Correct. Lost his rag in the tunnel at half time, apparently.

Tanton?s attacking threat was stifled somewhat by Naylor bombing forward down the right on numerous occasions. Tanton had to hold back otherwise it got too congested in there with him, naylor and markandy/mandeville.

One of my disappointments was the lack of attacking threat from the other side of the pitch. Gordon had a poor game by his standards and seemed to have lost pace compared to previous games I have seen him in. When they scored he got outmuscled and outpaced by their man when I initially thought it was a no danger type situation as Lewis would leave him for dead and clear up the mess which had gone on before. He failed and it was left to Boot as the last man under pressure.

Another thing I noticed yesterday was that a number of players either lost their footing or struggled with the bounce of the ball. Their players farcical slip when in control of the ball led to our goal. Maybe, Boot suffered a poor bounce too?

The club if it hasnt already needs to purchase a Clegg Hammer to measure and monitor the pitch firmness

Pitch firmness is a measurement of the PQS and done at least weekly for premier league clubs and ideally be between 80-85, if it too firm it can cause player injury and less can cause inconsistent bounce. Another item for the club to purchase would be a Pogo to measure the moisture content to avoid under and over watering

Watching City utterly dominated a ten man Arsenal more or less reduced to defending their own box.

But despite some of the most expensive attacking talent in the country at their disposal, City struggle to break them down.

Not too many shots from distance, either.

A few random thoughts v Cheltenham

We were the best side again over 90 minutes. This time against a side that played in L1 last year. And despite the fact that we were (again) short of some of our better players and (again) had to have different combinations on the pitch.

Other 'goods'. Tanton, Markanday and Araujo are better players than we have had in the past few years. So is Gordon, although he was partly at fault for their goal yesterday. Berry is a threat whenever he gets the ball. Colclough was far too good for their fullback. Oldaker did well again. Dunkley did the CH job of heading and kicking and being strong well.

The not so good. Drummond struggled due to minimal service and being outnumbered and bullied. Boot was at fault for the goal. Naylor lost his position too often and threw Tanton with his runs down the right wing (whilst playing as a CH). It wasn't why they scored, but he was miles out of position when they did. Dobra missed a couple (again) which he ought to have put on target.

The very good. Madden getting a few minutes and looking outstanding. Madden / Colclough / Berry / Grigg / Markanday / Naylor / Mandeville / Tanton / Gordon in front of Dunkley and Araujo is a very strong side. Add in Fleck and that's a L1 side. With Dobra and more besides.

What an improvement

A pogo stick? Whose job would it be to use that?

The difference being their lone striker has nearly double figures already and our lone strikers have zero.

He has 10 league goals already, I don't think griggs had 10 shots on target so far.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

No because he didn?t touch the ball, which is normally a part of scoring

But they didn't win. And they found it hard to break down a very well organised defence with their passing football, which is a common thing now in the modern game.
And the person you're referring to is a freak in a modern game where goals are shared around the whole team.
So it's a fairly academic difference isn't it?
