Thought Metcalfe was decent yesterday. Lots more to come from him considering it?s been his first few games in men?s football

He didn?t do anything wrong and is very tidy with the ball. He looks like a kid that will get better with games to me. Could be a cracking signing as the season goes on.

that's fair enough then, I'd have still gone for Araujo over Metcalfe yesterday after what happened at Port Vale

I just worry we have another Tyrer situation where Everton have insisted Metcalfe play in the majority of games, and whilst I'm sure the lad will come good and I want him to succeed, presently we have better options there

That's my worry as well. Sooner Fleck is in there the better.

Disappeared after a bright start I thought.

Agree that the sooner Fleck is involved the better.

Bit of balance certainly needed.

Cooks two spells have created our two best ever teams

With our highest attendences

Who attract top draw players

In my lifetime we?ve been between a league one and league two club for the majority so we are exactly where a club of our size should be.

Investment off the field through rich benefactors and a new training ground.

The main word in support is support so if you coming to the games to moan about how **** your life is or how unfair it is we don?t win every week because mummy told you you were special and a winner then don?t come.

Appreciate the cook times while they last because he?s one of our own.

Football can be a vehicle for the dissatisfied and born out by some "Starmeresque" types of posters on here.

Apart from the factual inaccuracies I guess.

I think we?ve almost seen enough now to form a view on how the season will pan out. Firstly auto promotion seems extremely remote as does relegation (despite the doomsayers ). Mid table seems most likely with an outside chance of the play offs. The bookies were way out for once making us pre season title favourites which was just ridiculous, presumably based on us romping the league below, although of course we also beat a couple of league 1 teams in the cup.
I think much depends on if we can stay relatively injury free. Also how Madden and Fleck perform. They are somewhat of an unknown quantity to us at present. One thing is certain is that at their age and injuries they won?t improve, but may improve us. It?s always a bit of a gamble when you take an aging player who has played at a higher level. Will he still cut it? Geoff Salmons was brilliant for us back in the day but others have stepped down and failed to live up to their reputations.

I?m not so sure, we are mid table and yet havnt been able to put a full strength side out yet. And we have a new DCM who?s yet to play, and new striker who made his debut last weekend. Think Trevor Hebbard, and Jack Lester.

Co Co is just coming back.
A new hope.
