His attitude today, particularly late on was terrible.

Answered back to cookie 2 or 3 times and had ?petulant teenager? vibes about this body language.

Worst player on the pitch for us - body language shocking - performance and attitude unacceptable .

Think we?d have a better balance with him left, dunkley right and Naylor alongside Oldaker. That said I thought Metcalfe did ok today.

Anything to get more height in the side. At least Madden knows how to head a ball so that should an improvement

I thought Cook got the team selection wrong. He should have started Araujo and moved Naylor forward and subbed Drummond at half time for Madden. I thought Gordon was particularly quiet today as he is normally our best player. Far too slow and too many back passes again.

I like Dobra but I wish he would just play it simple. Great run in the first half and then just roll it to Berry for a tap in rather than going for an impossible angle with the shot.

For the life of me, why wasn?t Drummond taken off about 60mins?. Really felt for him today, totally out of his depth.

That draw feels like a loss.
For the life of me I can't understand why (with all these attack minded players) that we don't utilise wing play very often.
When Berry picked the ball up after their guys slip, he attacked down the side, ran the by line and put the ball in a dangerous area to be attacked - boom, goal.
Coco late on - down the side, ball in causing havoc. Dobra's miss was a shocker.
How many more times are we going to gift these dog dirt team points. It's absolutely criminal.

I'd expect Araujo starting next game.
Really like Metcalfe
Nice cameo from Madden

We were gifting teams goals early last season. Difference was the teams were a lot poorer so we were out scoring them. We?re not getting away with it this season. We will get it right, just like we did last season.

Mystifying as to why Naylor isn't playing midfield.

Ditto as to why Drummond is starting up top. Our squad is absolutely stacked in midfield and shy up top and in central defence. Grimes should have been offloaded if we don't think he can do it in this league.

Today was far from a classic.

I thought we were wasteful with the ball but I'm not too concerned because we're holding our own against established league sides. Had Boot not dropped one, Cheltenham could have played until midnight and not scored.

I think by moving Tom Naylor to CD, we've solved one problem and created a bigger issue in CM. My only criticism of our recruitment to date is that we've not gone out and signed a combative midfield player to play alongside Naylor. Rolling back the years to that great partnership of Morsy and Ryan, both could play but both could do the dirty work when called upon. You've only got to look at Mike Jones' role in our success last season to realise what that type of player adds to the starting 11.

As for Jamie Grimes, I'm going to stick up for him. I thought against Grimsby, he had a good game and showed that he can compete. I was disappointed that he didn't start against Vale and he should consider himself extremely unlucky.

I said a few weeks ago on here that the risk of introducing so many new signings is that we start to lose our identity. I feel that's possibly where we're currently at. That said, I don't think it will be too long before Naylor returns to CM and some of our more experienced players return to the starting 11.

Naylor into midfield is my first wish, more movement when we have the ball has to be the second, and my third is for the ball to move faster. We can't get on Chey Dunkley's back for not releasing the ball when our players don't show for him.
The new lad at the back from Fulham should start, or bring back Jamie Grimes, allowing Naylor into midfield, because he's wasted at the back
Am I worried, nah, because we aren't at our best and we still aren't being outplayed, apart from last week. We'll get things right and do fine. Mid-table and I'm happy for the first season back.

If we can see why Naylor is needed midfield and why the quality of Araujo alonside Dunks, surely Cooky can. I am baffled.
I am looking forward to seeing the combo of Naylor and Fleck to dominate midfield. I think it was a step too far for Drummond today but one for the future.

Should have won

Cheltenham weren?t great, but like every team in this league they do carry some threat and are hard to break down when they go ultra defensive

Araujo looks great, would like him to start next game

Really missed Grigg moving the defence all over, Drummond didn?t get into game at all

Great to see Colclough back and Madden looked lovely enough

Their goal was out of nowt, boot upfield, their lad quicker than Gordon and Boot messed up!

But, as good as he is we have lost cos Dobra messed up two huge chances, has to pull it back in first half then misses a pretty much open goal in second

Oh well, at least we were better than last week!

Spot on. This is the post I would have written. Thanks to @Cartman for getting there first 😍💙

The only thing I disagree with is Madden looking lovely.

He didn?t have the best game today but up to yet, I think he?s an upgrade on Grimes from what I?ve seen.

Said at half time that Dobra?s final product was poor and he confirmed it for me second half, his finishing is poor, generally scuffed or miss hit shots, tries to do the Hollywood ending when a simple pass or placed shot is The much better option. You can see his teammates are so frustrated by him, Berry particularly first half visibly annoyed and giving him verbals for not passing when 20 yards out (when their keeper parried his shot). When he danced through a few mins before and chose to shoot from virtually the touch line instead of pulling it back for a simple tap in, that was borderline criminal!

Then there was the blatant dive on the edge of their box?.

He?s good but cannot play out from the back, so need to make sure he can just roll it to one of the midfielders or full backs
