Ah, ok. I'm sure my point was made by somebody on't wireless, possibly Cook, but I can't remember who.

Had loads of corners but might as well not have bothered given the difference in height between the two teams

It takes a very special set of players to play that way and I seem to remember that team didn't create many chances; just that nobody could get the ball off them.

Our corners were awful yestday, either played short and backwards, or lofted straight into the hands of the keeper.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

The ley lines running straight up the pitch interfered with the flight of the ball and the negative energy emanating from them totally disrupted the SPIRITES attacks.
The coming equinox will bring good karma for the SPIRITES.

Hopefully just a one off then.

Any experience of equinox's delivering strikers?

Port vale did a number on us today, they stopped our fullbacks getting forward they capitalised on our reluctance to go long and forced us into passing errors, but we were victims of our own downfall starting with a poor decision by the manager to go with a kid and a non tacking player in banks as a defensive duo, huge mistake away-it needed a more robust midfield , today was ideal for Naylor to go back in, away from we need to be a more solid outfit , if we can take one plus the centre half who came on araujo looks class, 2 brilliant passes in a short space of time, I?d start him.
Upfront is a massive problem, I suspected Grigg was not going to be as effective in this league, he barely touched the ball before injury and is very isolated in this better league, we are desperate for somebody who can make it stick, we did the right thing selling quigley but we needed a replacement, 6 games in and no goal from a striker is worrying

Here he is? ?I told you guys that Grigg was a crock and we should never had signed him, how right I am, pat me on the back one and all?

Now back to reality, Grigg was a HUGE part of getting us out of the cesspit of non-league, and out of the 6 games so far this season he could easily have been MOTM in 3 of them. Give it a rest and admit you were just wrong, lad.

Well another fun day at Vale Park. Got what we deserved, out musseled, out thought, out sh..housed, 6" and half a stone short in most areas. Not a good day performance wise for some.

Thought the ref had a good game not sure re the lino re the vital none offside call it looked off on the big screen re- runs, was definitely more off than the call on Markandy at Gills. These Bunkum decisions are due to even out apparently if so we will be in for a cracking 3 seasons soon.

For a team of "rough, tough, jolly sort of fellows" (MP quote) they did appear to get hurt very easily (conveniently probably) taking advantage of the ref not being able to do owt about. They know that the refs have a duty of care for the players and take the p... by stopping the game at a convenient time and generally in the defensive half Despicable and totally anti football should we follow suit? When in Rome etc.. You have to admire their thespian skills 9.5 out of 10. The little "tap dance" when they eventually got their feet was the icing on the cake. The synchronised entry to the field by their alleged medics was a piece of comedy genius and deserves a 10/10. The 4-5 minutes they spent (not) treating their centre half in front of us was top notch sh..housery and put boredom to same, to talk a man out of death was finding new ground medically.

This total sh..housery as to stop even if radical methods are required. Get an independent medic involved and if he decides its a scam leave injured player of for ten minutes. A synchronised threesome entering the field would at least add a bit of comedy.

The replay doesn?t show our left back?s position when the ball is played so impossible to judge from the footage we have seen.

It's our LB that leads the protest2s though. Would we all agree that their player looks offside with respect to the other players in our back line?

I think it?s fair to say it was bad day at the office for town yesterday.

When I saw port vale attack in the first 20 mins I was
Hoping we would take advantage of the play being more open but we simply didn?t. Those neat intricate pass and moves deserted us yesterday. We didn?t get going is my overall take.

Positive was that we were never really out of the game. A negative was grigg injury. I hope he is back sooner rather than later

Probably but without being able to pinpoint his position it matters little.

The guy went down holding his head for the best part of a minute suggesting a head injury. The ref eventually stopped the game believing it was. Two sponge men came on and treated his leg for the best part of five minutes after which he got up and walked away. His mission to stop the game and disrupt the flow worked perfectly. Town might have had no shots on target but when seven Vale booking for hacking down promising moves were issued, one can perhaps see why. Incidently the press box called offside. Having said that we were poor and didn't deserve anything.

A Brummie fan?s take-
With his shocking injury record and pretty poor goals return I cannot see many takers. He has never hit the same heights as his Brentford days which prompted Villa to sign him. He really blew very hot and icy cold for Birmingham. From scoring 6 in 5 games to 1 in 30 games. Shocking penalty taker and misses 9 out of 10 one on ones.-

This is the issue - good free agent striker = an oxymoron.
If he is any good, why is he still a free agent when every club in the land wants a good striker on their books?
