Only just realised the mouthpiece was BBC Stoke.

Let's be rate - Vale are as cynical as owt we met in non league and constantly left feet in.

Or on one or two occasions took our lads out.

So how unprofessional was his whining?

But today underlines our long term Achilles heels - no 'Gnanduillet' option against physical and deep defences, whilst Banks isn't the man for a midfield battle.

Not just his fault, though. Vale set out to stop us playing and did. With a great deal of help from a Tairn side who kept giving it away.

Positive?

Both our defeats have been by a single goal. Bigger picture is there's still nowt to freeten us at this level...

Agree with all that Chris.
It says something about what Cook has done when managers as experienced as Moore set up to stop us with anti-football tactics.

For a BBC man, he was shocking.

Poor today, best team won, we created nothing and never looked like scoring, boot motm, that save 1st half was worthy..

all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Give over, you are like a spoiled brat.

Get used to it as most teams we?ll play this season will be more physical than us

Not seen owt today, but I wonder if we've nobody that shapes up as well as Grimes as a captain?

No physical presence in Midfield whatsoever.

We need Naylor in there.

Least of our problems, Dunkley can do that fine and I?d rather give Araujo a go than Grimes. Vale had us completely sussed throughout most of the game, went man for man pressing us high and we had no outlet so we continually lost possession. Wingers weren?t involved whatsoever, both weak as p**s today, too high up the pitch when Vale had the ball allowing them to run at our fullbacks 1v1. Midfield of Bansk and Metcalfe should be controlling games when they have the ball but kept knocking it out of play. Don?t know why Cook thinks we can come to Vale?s gaff with no DM and not suffer because of it.

We've been found out by teams already and we're only 6 games in, so is playing and we have no idea how to change things. According to BBC stats we had best 60% if the ball but did nothing with it

Dreadful performance. Got bullied and Cooky probably should have changed it earlier but we looked awful , no one seemed to have a first touch , passing was poor , we lacked any sort of energy. Too many players were off it today I?m afraid. I can take a defeat but it was such a poor game. I was really looking forward to a good game of football but it was really really bad. Also our atmosphere at home is like Galatasaray compared to that shower from them today.

When Drummond came on he must have reduced our front 4 to the smallest average height we have ever had in our history.

So, if Banks and young Metcalfe were as poor as some have been saying then is it any wonder we were bullied all over the park.

Probably, the fee we received for Quigley was too good to refuse but it has certainly left us lacking regarding a height option up top.

At least, the result might bring a few down to earth from their promotion expectations. A mid-table or anything higher is more likely.

I was a little surprised that Grimes was not even in the squad after playing last week. Had he been available and selected to partner Dunkley with Naylor moving into midfield we might have had a little more physicality about us. Certainly, with Madden, Fleck and Colclough brought into the mix we should look stronger too.

He definitely looked offside and it would have been very harsh for a penalty but yet again they are so strong and been bullied off the ball too many times

He definitley looked offside from that camera angle but I can only assume Gordon was playing him onside on the near side.

Berry up top and Mandeville in his place next week
?

Whatever Berry may lack in experience, he knows where the goal is. And Mandy more likely to retain possession and pick him out?

Certainly for the first 35 they were bigger stronger and more attack minded than us all over the pitch. Totally outplayed not helped by our poor passing. We did not deserve to get anything out of that game.

I think Mandeville over Markanday every day of the week, much more intelligent footballer.

Don?t subscribe to that point of view, we battled away against Grimsby.
It is up to us to impose our style on the game, hold the ball and make good passes which we didn?t do today.
We missed Oldaker who seems to be always available, Metcalfe was anonymous today and the midfield lacked very little experience of the EFL
