He trained at Rangers also. Although he did say he has had only one week of full training.

It will be interesting to see when he will start a game. He seem pretty realistic in his interview

I think this signing means Madden will definitely play alongside Grigg if not to replace him at times to surprise the opposition. Can?t fault Grigg for his work rate but he?s a bit predictable and gets bullied by the defenders with his lack of mobility and height. We need an element of surprise and that?s what we can get from Madden with what is now a very overcrowded midfield.

I reckon we could have name the team bingo. We'll be walking up to the ground with no idea of our starting 11. Whatever combo PC puts out, doesn't matter. More good times ahead. Loving it.

I?ll give you Swindon and Salford as examples. Neither of these teams were great shakes and we should have buried both of them with our quality. Call it poor tactics or the wrong line-up there?s an explanation, especially as far as Salford is concerned - extreme naivety but the manager put the blame on ?chaos? in the team?.JQ defending deep etc?he made the B****Y substitutions after all, putting on two forwards on after they they put two forwards on and us defending a 1-0 lead. Indefensible in my opinion but from what I.ve seen since he realises that just playing the PC way will not work in this league - long may this continue (I hope even though I appreciate the principle). Hence my view that we need to be a bit more unpredictable depending on the opposition we face.

Playing just one way gives the opposition a hand. Take it away and we?ll walk it with our squad

My humble opinion

Cookie called out [fresh] JQ for quitting too easily on chasing back from their goalie's throw out. (Salford)

What it is you've seen since that is contra to the PC way?

He certainly offers something? different!

I?m still super excited for his review of the other clubs in this division to see if we really do have a bloated back room staff. It?s been months in the making, so I reckon it?ll be thorough and comprehensive.

This maybe looking into things far too much but in Flecks interview they've added some very weird close up angle as some of the players are walking up in the back of shot, wondering if they're trying to hide anybody.

It'll need a thread of its own when his tome is ready to be unleashed.

I thought it was very odd, perhaps you're right but not sure the media team are quick enough to think that fast. Good to see Madden casually jog up the steps and no limping, might not be far off

That?s an interesting shout. Definitely something club media would do. We?ll see, eh?

I am going for either-
Censored shots of our incoming 6 foot 4 inch extremely fast back up striker -or

deleted footage of rude gestures from players walking in the background

I thought he might have been too casual.

If you look back on interviews like Croot and Kirk the camera angles sometimes freeze or show weird shots also . Don't think it was on purpose but who knows eh ?

Good times for certain. The players that Paul Cook has brought in, for the most part, have enhanced the squad, and the ones he inherited have improved beyond my expectations, the rest, as they say,are yesterday's men. Us fans can be nostalgic about our players, but managers can't. I wasn't happy when King went, but all three specialist full backs are better than him, so I needn't have worried.

The full backs, on early showing, look to be fantastic acquisitions.

I really like the look of Tanton in particular.

I know exactly what you mean, at times I find it annoying when people see these explayers without a club and they think we should bring them back. They left us for a reason and mostly it's because they weren't good enough. Not many are worthy of coming back.

I think Tanton is superb, and I can't see us stealing him from Fulham on the cheap, although he may return next season if we get promoted. Unless there's a disaster on the injury front, I think Liam Mandeville can rest easy, as I think he'll be safe from playing full back, or at least on the right flank anyway.
Gordon is another one who has really caught my eye. Having played at left back, I thought I'd pick a decent one out straight away but I thought he was no better than what we'd got during pre-season, but then he just changed completely. He went up several gears, and must now be one of the first on the team sheet. I'm glad I don't have to pick the team, that's all.

As I said, we can afford to be nostalgic, but managers can't. One bad run of results and there's questions to be answered. Paul Cook has the backing he wanted the first time around but he hasn't gone out flashing the cash. He's brought in some cracking players without breaking the bank.
For me, we should get rid of that stupid eyesore on the Horns Bridge roundabout and replace it with a massive statue of all our best managers with Cookie in the middle, a bit like a Chesterfield FC Mount Rushmore 😁.

That can't be right, cos Walton said they were both crap (as well as saying that Dunkley is slow).

It was interesting seeing Tanton being subbed. After a fabulous display, he was absolutely dead on his feet and if he's made a full recovery then he's had a very steep learning curve that can only make him better.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Or a new form of 1960s-style arthouse filming?
