Just a heads up, it's a bit of a pain to get through with the traffic lights and no roundabout in the town centre.

Which pub(s) do you have in mind?
Spoons (the Green Dragon) is quite respectable to be fair and generally not full of idiots.
Opposite the square church on the corner at the top of St Edward St.
Has a decent beer garden.
The Blue Mugge is also decent, before town centre up Osborne St.
In town the Cock, Cobblers, the Red Lion and the Roebuck also decent. Roebuck and RL do food.
Also in town the Valiant (aptly named), Mucky Duck (Black Swan) and Bird in Hand don't do food but very reasonably priced beer. These three are where "Leek's finest" tend to go.

Good man
You may find, if you go in any of the latter three, the locals have no teeth and six fingers.
