The question is was the 4th official acting on his own volition or was he reacting to pre match instructions by the ref maybe wanting to get his card count up? Booking Cook so early certainly put a marker down when "cocking a deaf un" could have applied.
You could be right re Copeland, don't recall us having any problems with him
the way the referee marched over already getting his card out of his top pocket to book Cooky so early in the match showed to me that it was as though the officials had already decided before the match that as soon as he opened his mouth to the 4th official the referee would be over to put him in his place with a booking
The referee had no intention of having a quiet word with our manager to give him a warning about his future conduct in the match etc he was hell bent on giving him the yellow card simply on the way he marched over towards the technical area
Of course to try and give the impression that he was being even handed the prat in the middle sorry referee lol then had to book the Grimsby manager for apparantly no real reason
heaven help the worst rated referee from the Championship if he is supposed to be one of the best
