I really hope that pitch side advertising doesn't come in; it's really annoyingly distracting even on tv.

Wonder if pitch side electronic advertising is coming in the future.

Cost was a factor, after training ground, pa system, floodlights etc. But the idea will be revisited again next season.

Much better system, that's obvious, but way too loud. No-one round us could hear each other and to be honest was bordering on painful. It needs turning down!

The main issue in my opinion is that there are some really harsh frequencies and when turned up to full, it really hurts your ears.

An EQ dip in the high end should fix that.

So every innovation is automatically wonderful and should be accepted without question? I don't agree with that simplistic outlook, though I do think it will be introduced anyway because businesses believe it will boost their sales and is therefore commercially desirable. How about making sponsors logos on players shirts flash on and off throughout the game? Any objectors are obviously old fogeys living in the past, so we'd have to accept it to show how up to date we are wouldn't we?

It seems feasible that these flashing signs could be off putting, distracting to the linesman. If he/she has to make a quick decision as to wether a players toe on the far side of the pitch is in an offside positn just as the signs in their eye line change colour, or a dog chasing a ball suddenley appears could result in an incorrect game changing decision.

Why do the powers that be having attracted punters to the game want to distract them from watching the product by adding these distractions?

Exactly.

Footballs selling it soul with the current pathetic TV deals resulting in KO changes disrupting genuine fans whilst some bloke sat at home with his can if carling can be seen as a better target for being bombarded with adds.

It makes you wonder how the powers that be, in EFL towers have been seduced.

Well it doesn't seem to off putting to the officials at all the grounds they are appearing at more and more but I suppose there has been no detailed studies. Personally I'm ambivalent towards them.

Think there is an explanation to the question in the second para - they are there for one reason and it is not aesthetics - it is for more revenue through advertising.

Sorry, just an opinion. The premier league have the safety net of VAR (supposedly) the other grounds haven't as yet and therefore as you say any cock ups can't be reasonably monitored.
IMO it's an unnecessary complication with potential for disaster and why would fans want to be looking at distracting adds while the game is in progress?

Use them at H/T certainly, but I'd prefer the Spirettes

Why don't we train the neighbourhood seagulls to carry advertisement banners, no distractions at pitch level and they can help to clean up the ground after the game, must be the odd dropped chip 🤣🤣🤣.

I don't find it distracting, the only times I notice the electronic advertising hoardings, is when the ball goes out of play. They have had them for years in the top divisions and not once have I said or heard said they detract from watching the game.

My older brother moans about adverts on the telly when there's a good film on, and then moans about paying for a TV licence to see a film without any adverts 🤔.
