It is an option, particularly as Shecks and Palmer aren't likely to be in the squad due to injuries and with Quigley going numbers wise there will be space as I think Hobson and possibly Horton won't make the cut and will be loaned to non league. The only issue I can see may be that the wages we have tied up on Palmer and Shecks (who can't be loaned until fit) will obviously be hampering the budget. That aside I reckon Cook will still be looking for a forward...

Fleck is a left footed more talented (with respect) version of Jones who in my opinion is the best of our current bunch at moving the ball even though he's an OAP.
It's nowt more than gossip but if it's got weight than I'm all for it. A CM group of Oldaker, Metcalfe, Fleck, Naylor would be mouth watering.

With Naylor, Metcalfe, DJ, Banks and Jones in the squad I don't think we need another central midfielder Dave. With Madden out (who plays deep anyway) we only have Grigg up top, so a centre forward has to be the priority if we are going to make a further signing surely?

Although losing Guigez leaves us vulnerable it frees up budget that loaning out a player might not. I'm pretty sure we'll bring in a free agent if we can although I expect they'll be stiff competition for the more viable ones.

One consolation is we haven't lost a talisman at the 11th hour like our friends across the M1 have. Had a blimp at Scabsnet this morning and it doesn't make for pretty reading.
