My guess is that a L1 club has to be better than a L2 club for Tyrer's development from Everton's perspective, and also that the finances to secure the deal are an order of magnitude higher than last season for all the teams competing for his signature.

So bye bye, good luck, and a warm welcome back to Harry if he visits Tairn, and our heroic goal is to ensure that we secure the best goalie combination in L2 going forrad. To me, we can't contemplate signing a permanent understudy for Booot as a policy. That combo would be too weak to optimise our promotion chances.

If he he's actually replacing O'Donnel perhaps we can offer him a return.

Looking at the stats, O'Donnell was back up keeper near on all last season - at 35 , L1 wages and maybe he can keep Tyrer out the team, think he might stick by the seaside.
It did cross my mind briefly tho!

HT was part of something special side last season.

But as an up and coming Everton player he's a career to consider, so a move to L1 is a logical step.

We wish him well, realise Boot has more than earned his opportunity, and know Cook will now hire the right bloke to understudy him...

Griggs did 85 against Swindon, 62 against Crewe and 84 against Salford. Id suggest he has the legs if the manager requires it of him but he doesn't and is managing his game time appropriately. Id imagine Madden to be of similar fitness (when he's back from injury).

Still very early doors as far as the season is concerned. Wait until the pitches start to get heavy and we're playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday.

Even at League 2 level you dont get pitches that are mud baths these days, its not like trying to run around on a bog at Holmebrook Valley Park in January! There will be very few if any heavy pitches these days.

A goalkeeper required as back-up to Ryan Boot, definitely, but which other position are we likely to want to strengthen, being that Paddy Madden seems to be weeks, rather than months away from making a start, he'll add to the strikeforce and centre midfield positions. If Grimes comes back ok, then we're good to go at the back, Naylor can move back into defensive midfield and we have an abundance of attacking midfielders. Answers on a postcard please 🤔.

When Cook wants to change to plan B that is a different style to Grigg, it's becoming increasingly obvious that Joe isn't the answer. He's not done enough since being given the opportunity following Grigg's injury last season and time has run out imo.

Didn?t impress on his last visit to Town.

Anyway, whilst I believe we are in the market for a keeper I do not think that we are going to pay a transfer fee.

I would like to see Drummond given a chance up top,but maybe he'll get a chance against Lincoln. His pace going into the box would be scary for defenders, assuming we get a ref and not a wet wipe.

The only thing i can see him bring a forward in for is if he wants a mobile big lad up front, i've not seen us yet this season other than bits on streams and highlights but as well as Quigley did last season he's not the most mobile.

I wouldnt be surprised if both players that came in are loans of younger players from Prem\Champ clubs. That said seen that Bailey Cadamarteri is off on loan to Lincoln from Sheff Wed, he would have been a good signing for us.

Have Fulham got a promising youngster who would fit the bill, as they seem excellent to deal with. I don't know the Wednesday lad but we seem to get a nosebleed if we get beyond Bramall Lane.

Not 100% sure if there are rules about how many you can have from one team as well as how many loan players you can have in a match day squad etc.

You?ve answered your own question. We don?t urgently need anyone else at this stage other than a goal keeper.

Save the funds for a rainy day. A few weeks ago cook mentioned a ? transitional? period with the new players. Let that period settle
And then look at another player is my thoughts.

If Derby get someone in is Brown an option? Don't see him getting many Championships minutes.

Looks like its 5 loan players in a match day squad and 4 players from one club with some restrictions on how old they can be.

Quote

55.4.1 A maximum of 5 Players registered on a Temporary Loan Transfer can be named in the Players listed on a Team Sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League. This maximum shall reduce to 4 Players where a Club names a player on the team sheet who is registered on an Emergency Goalkeeper Loan

55.4.2 No Club may sign more than 4 Players on a Temporary Loan Transfer from another Club (or club) in any Season, of which no more than 2 Players may be over the age of 23. The deadline for determining a Player?s age in this respect shall be as at the 30 June prior to the Season in which the Temporary Loan Transfer is intended to take place. Any Temporary Loan Transfer which subsequently becomes a permanent transfer shall not count against a Club?s quota of such Temporary Loan Transfers for that Season.
