Wow - be prepared or prepare to fail.

Heres a scenario:-
Boot gets cut in half 10mins into Gillingham away
*in a gruff scouse accent*
Oli, warm up son and grab Boot's gloves- he'll not be needing them now.
You'll only have to see out the last 80mins plus injury time out today, but I might have someone lined up next week. Prob an inexperienced 18yr old from the Prem. See out it works out.

I've beaten the drum regarding a 2nd keeper and if some folk think it's OK not to have another senior keeper on the books/bench/Tesco car park...well that's up to them to think it's OK, until it's not.
*tips hat* Good day to you

Yes, you may have beaten the drum week after week. Maybe, one week you might be right but so far your record is not that good. Never mind it is a long season and where we end up in this league will not be dependent on just any one game.

I'm glad my record isn't good on this subject!

Even if we got a second keeper I very much doubt the gaffer would put him on the bench anyway.

Hopefully we will get a striker in. If Will Grigg gets injured we are light up top. Quigs is ok as an impact sub for the last 10.

You could make an argument for either a CB,CM or CF.

1 not all but it?s something to strengthen the spine.

Obviously on top of a GK.

i'd expect grimes to be given 45 tonight and if he comes through ok, he'll be back in at cb saturday and naylor back where he belongs that then takes the pressure off those 2 positions and focus can be on the striker perhaps.

Madden can play both no10 and no9. Him and Grigg are both the wrong side of 30 and at the tempo we play I doubt either will have the legs for 90 minutes.
I can see them both sharing the no9 shirt with Quigs waiting in the wings as injurt backup.

Griggs did 85 against Swindon, 62 against Crewe and 84 against Salford. Id suggest he has the legs if the manager requires it of him but he doesn't and is managing his game time appropriately. Id imagine Madden to be of similar fitness (when he's back from injury).

Thank god he?s gone somewhere!
We can all move on now and Boot can play with some confidence as first team goalie presumably.

As for his comments, he?s been media trained at Everton ? it?s probably a carbon copy of what was said when he arrived at Chester and here.
Not saying he didn?t enjoy his time btw, but it?s a step up the career ladder and not a love affair for our Harry.

Wonder who signed him as they do not have a manager as yet. Maybe they have head coach model and director of football, however he may end up disappointed and we can start this crap all over again come January.

My guess is that a L1 club has to be better than a L2 club for Tyrer's development from Everton's perspective, and also that the finances to secure the deal are an order of magnitude higher than last season for all the teams competing for his signature.

So bye bye, good luck, and a warm welcome back to Harry if he visits Tairn, and our heroic goal is to ensure that we secure the best goalie combination in L2 going forrad. To me, we can't contemplate signing a permanent understudy for Booot as a policy. That combo would be too weak to optimise our promotion chances.

He was good but really not that good, Boot in goal for the season last season would have still seen us champions. Good luck to him though, seemed a nice lad.
