10 games is usually a good yardstick, but 3 games in and holding our own in a new League with a better/higher class of opposition, still undefeated and unlucky not to be on 9pts. Id say we are doing ok. Next weeks game at Gillingham is a tester. If we win there, 8pts from 4 and suddenly we are back on track with the avg 2pts per game.

last couple of seasons, 80 points has normally been enough for automatic promotion 1.74 per game

Our start is 1.66

 its very early days but decent start

Really positive start to the season for me. We could, and probably should, have 9 points (if not 7).

The signings made look to have strengthened us, particularly the defensive ones - really impressed by Dunkley, Gordon, and both right backs.

Would like to see us bring in another centre forward, as I don't think Quigley is going to cut it at this level.

I'm satisfied with our start but just wish we'd gamble a bit more, particularly when in an attacking position.

Other than that its all good.

Does anyone feel like Cook may have had a rethink about the squad over the course of pre-season, or was the loan signing strategy part of the plan all along?

I think most of us expected an evolution rather than revolution, but we?ve started the season with practically a whole new defence and with possibly 10 (will it be 11 or 12 later today?) new players in the door. I was wondering if it?s a sign that he feels that as a club we?ve outgrown some of the players currently on our books?
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Pretty standard for PL club loans to happen late on in the window and PC would have known that.

Think the plan would have always been to bring a few of these top quality youngsters in to supplement the experience we've brought in early - would only see us adding a forward now and weather that's Brown or someone else it's been a very good window.
