Think he is being linked to Fleetwood or maybe even Notts County

Completely agree, Oldaker is a brilliant player and has improved season on season under Cook. He always had the ability on the ball, but you can see the improvement in his mentality, off the ball play, intensity of his play (taking less touches and moving it quicker) etc since he?s been here. Still only 25 too, not the finished article by any stretch.

Said in the post match interview he much fitter this year. Seemed to admit he had a part time attitude and occasionally let his fitness levels slip previously.

I'm sure Cook has the targets lined up but if he's expecting 2 in tbe door ( one has to be a keeper?!?!) what other position will he be looking to fill?
The management sites the lack of cutting edge but the addition of DM on the wing should be bringing the chances.
I believe we have the creativity in the team to put chances on a plate, so are we looking to bring in another striker? Someone who can put 9/10 chance away? Someone who can, when in tbe box, produce that movement to get one on target?
If so, where does that leave the one up front set up and Grigg and Quigley. Or keep both and add a third striker?

Grigg can get the movement in the box but in the two home games so far the final ball into the box has not been good enough

Yes Saturday especially was very frustrating. Got in behind them several times but the pull back 9/10 would always be straight to the feet or head of a Salford player. Contrast to Crewe where everything went for us though so swings and roundabouts. Just have to be more clinical at home when teams are sitting deep for 90.

Said this over 6 weeks ago. Looks like Everton made sure there was no chance of him coming back here and messing us around. Hope they drop this year.

Just maybe CFC have not been strung along and have been fully aware of the situation re Tyrer. After all, an offer was put to another keeper who turned it down. Cook knows the market and how to play it. Meanwhile, he has had the opportunity to assess Ryan Boot in regular first team action and that, in itself, could determine whether he wants a first choice or second choice keeper.

I can't quite believe that given the time from where Tyrer went back to Everton to present day ( 5 games in - Inc Cup Games) that we haven't signed a 2nd senior keeper and potentially could be over an agents barrel if we want a particular stopper.
I wonder what terms were offered to Blackman for him to turn us down.
It absolutely smacks of hanging in for Tyrer which is a dangerous game, because we could have snared A.N.Other and had a settled keeper in instead of what's left kicking around looking for a job.
If the rumour that Holy is training with us and also that Tyrer is in advanced talks with Blackpool are true, I'd be offering Holy terms straight away or be dropping Blackman another call

Suspect he was also told he was very much second fiddle to Boot with a contract offer in accordance to that and he wasnt happy with the whole offer.

Not checked but i suspect there are plenty of OOC keepers still knocking about that could be signed post window closing so its not as desperate as it seems.

Plus plenty of PL third and fourth choice keepers.

I am so not concerned by this ongoing keeper situation. Boot is fine and if we get somebody better or at a similar level to compete then great. Anyone else not overly arsed?
