I have been reading this thread and I totally agree with what Clarevoyant is saying. We are all well aware aware of the reasons for the changes, but like he says no consideration is ever given to the supporters who travel to the games, only armchair fans. Saturday 3pm is traditionally football time. I am sure I read something from Sky when it was publicised stating there would be minimal disruption to fixtures. The number of changes to our fixtures is not what I would call minimum, unless of course you are an armchair fan.
I've spoken to several people over the past few days and the concensus is that the amount of changes (a third of games pre xmas for us) is excessive and a shock. A shock because none expected that amount. With the majority of those consulted being Pensioners, they don't have the time or inclination to be playing about on computers to much and therefore any such info slipped under the radar, very convenient. It must be very frustrating for folk planning trips for tge season to have to scrap plans and start again.
The novelty of having to trek across the country for a 12.30 KO will soon wear off, football as we know it, a good day out every fortnight will diminish whilst Joe Bloggs sits at home with his can of carling watching some obscure footy whilst awaiting the 1.45 at Haydock.
Sky and the like couldn't care a f... who they crap on from a great height. The EFL have totally sold the fans, the ones they've relied on for income for decades down the river.
Do the clubs benefit, not sure. If all the clubs get the same from the TV deal, how does their spending power improve in relation to transfers all the clubs will be in an equal buyers market but with the extra cash no doubt players and specifically agents will take advantage
Load of crap
