Just watched the run on iplayer, hopeless camera choice by the French director missed the actual catch up.
But fantastic effort by Yee.

I think the catching up caught everyone including the director a bit on the hop as it was so near the end and he was so far back.

Great specatacle is the Olympics.

Less keen on subjective judge based scoring events and I don't think they help themselves appeal to a wider audience. The diving commentator really helps you follow it but the judges don't get to see replays. how can they score that??

I cannot fathom the boxing and gymnastic scoring - it seems trumped up to me or based upon reputation or something else...

I thought the diving girls were quite fortunate with their scoring - especially on dive 4 but, the GB boxers must have upset someone.

The boxing scoring has been suspect at best and that?s being polite. There has been amateur boxing corruption for years upon years. That bad it?s not even a confirmed sport in 2028 and this years Olympics hasn?t helped.

He's got a running past hasnt he including i think representing GB and it shows. Not sure if he paced it really well or the lad from NZ blew up but either way it was a great run. Wasnt just a normal swim either, the swimming in the Seine looks really hard when they go upstream on the way back to the pontoon. Saw the ladies swim this morning and they flew downstream but then when they turned the buoy they seemed to be just swimming on the spot before they managed to get going upstream!

Second gold of the day in the rowing as they nick it on the line.

My three monitor setup getting some use today....Olympics on one screen, Derbyshire cricket on another and actually doing a bit of work on the other!

Yee put in a great finish but there is no doubt Wilde blew up pretty badly. 3rd place ended up only 4 or 5 seconds behind him. Another 100/150 metres and he might have ended up with bronze!

Can't help thinking that both the x4 rowing teams lost the race inside the first 50 meters - especially the mens. Not sure if there is such a tactic in rowing as giving everyone a boat lenght start but they were asleep when everyone else shot off.

Imane Khelif is a female. Born a female. Being trans in Algeria which she is from is illegal for a start. I?m not saying allowing her to compete is right, especially when she wasn?t allowed to participate in the worlds. But factually, she is a female.

?Khelif has disorder of sex development (DSD), which causes some females to have XY chromosomes and blood testosterone levels typical of a male?

I?d like to see the Hungarian girl beat her next so she doesn?t finish with a medal. But if she beats her, she 100% loses to the Turkish lass in the final.

Apparently the IOC don?t have the same regs re testosterone levels as the IBA, who disqualified her from last years Worlds. The IOC basically saying her passport saying she?s a woman, so she is. The UN now praising the Italian lass for withdrawing virtually saying the decision to allow the bout is tantamount to promoting violence against women.
East stand second class citizen.

I agree with this. The Italian lass bottled it when she got clipped. Probably pre organised. Khelif isn?t some absolute monster who can?t be beaten. Amy Broadhurst, a very talented Irish girl absolutely boxed her head off a few years back.

Boxing is not a confirmed sport for the 2028 Olympics. None of this helps but the BBC having this as second lead story is not really relevant and says more about the BBC than boxing.

You're really showing your ignorance here as others have said. Conversations about her testosterone levels and whether she should be able to compete are legitimate but it's easier just to be offensive I suppose.

So bored of people having to oversimply everything so their little minds can comprehend it.

Hasn't she been beaten something like 9 times by other woman?

Indeed - never been proven so true as the reactions to the tragic events in Southport

Yeah. 37 wins & 9 losses in the amateurs. She?s only won 5 fights by stoppage so it?s all a bit of a myth. The Italian girl bottled it. For what it?s worth, her opponent in the Semi is well worth a google.

Yeh its always good once the athletics gets going, was fortunate enough to get tickets for the session at 2012 where Bolt won the 200m and Rushida broke the 800m WR while winning gold. I'm actually out on someones leaving do this evening but hoping the pub i'm in has things on, one eye on the BMX as i watched the heats last night and it was great fun. English lad struggled a bit and seems to have an injury apparently but Beth Shriever in the womens one was way ahead of the others in all three races and was ridiculously quick so hopefully she can retain the title after winning it in Tokyo as well.

I saw the BMX'ing last night as well. She was astonishingly fast. 10000m final tonight should be good. Aregawi, Barega or Cheptegei for the win.
