Yes he was deaf mate and as such he had speech difficulties too. I often wondered if it was mistaken identity too as I had only been in the club a matter of a minute or so when he dragged me out. I hardly had chance to say or do anything wrong. I know it can happen as some years ago an old workmate of mine had an identical twin and his twin brother had allegedly had a confrontation with a doorman in a town centre pub one night. My workmate went in the same pub around a week later and the doorman spotted him at the bar and mistaking him for his twin he dragged him out into the alley behind the pub and beat him up. He was kicked about the head during the beating and ended up hospital in a coma and he sadly passed away around a week later. He was a really likeable bloke and he was only in his twenties. It was an absolute tragedy.

That's just sick mate, and no matter what justification the doorman thought he had, he had none to do that. I can't remember it myself, so I do hope the murdering thug ended up in the nick. Anyone who kicks some poor sod about the head doesn't deserve to be part of society for a while.

Yes mate he did time for it but not as much as he should have if I remember correctly. He was found not guilty of murder but was found guilty of manslaughter. His solicitor argued in court that as the doorman threw him out of the back door of the pub he hit his head on a kerbstone and that is what did the damage rather than the kicks. It was in the Painted Wagon as it was called back then and the incident took place in the alleyway at the back. I can still remember the doormans name to this day and he lived at Inkersall.

At that time mate, doormen got away with a lot more than they would nowadays, as did the police. Certainly not right because he won't carry that sigma that he's a murderer. The Painted Wagon was, in essence,a wild west saloon transported to the 70s. We all frequented the place and I think if your face didn't fit you didn't get in again.
I remember when there were no door staff at all, until the Forest fans wrecked the place on a stopover. Eventually I stopped going in, and went in the Blue Bell instead, much better music in my eyes, although the Scabland ale wasn't up to much.

It wasn't just the beer mate. I can't think of a single thing in Scabland that is and ever was any good!
It must have been the last place on Earth that God ever made!

AC, Scabland has always been a godforsaken dump. It's populated by halfwits who can't even finish off a football ground. Their idea of a night out is headbutting pool balls and sniffing coke, diet of course 😁. The only place in the UK with de-lousing booths on each exit from the hovel centre, and it's legal to marry your pet dog.
I try my best to go nowhere near the dump these days, with Pleasley being far enough.

There but for the grace of God go I mate ;)
I will be forever grateful that I was blessed with being born 12 miles North West of that dump.

I feel for anyone born the wrong side of the M1. Far too close to the afflicted.

God's people who live on the edge of Scabfield are our unpaid border force. It must cost a fortune in drone batteries keeping tabs on the sub-species 😂.
Whenever I drive through the dump, I think of that Kurt Russell film, Escape from LA 😄, good old Snake Plissken, he never did get as far as Forest Town, he probably didn't get past the Mansfield Moonshine zombies 😁.

Give over it?s a right investment.
Sounds so much better and actually helps in the build up. Not so sure we need to run out song but music blaring out before kick off and actually being able to hear the announcements is a big step forward

Ground looked in good nick, pitch, floodlights and other bits too

I disagree re pre match, the music was far too loud, I'd rather let the fans create an atmosphere, not get myself deafened by the tannoy system, and the music was on almost to the point we kicked in both halves..

Turn it down for music let the fans generate the big noise.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

There is a H & S issue here, at least you will be able to increase the volume should that be required.
God I hate this league.

Totally agree , we said that in the pre season games and last night , we have to shout to have a conversation because it's to loud The announcements are fine it's the music that is the problem. Where we sat everybody was complaining and that included families with small children.

I agree. Turn it off sooner. I'm not sure the actual spoken word sound was that much clearer than it was before in the South Stand too.

One for the fan's forum I think. If you can't hear your mate next you without shouting, it's too loud. Not everyone is deaf.

First time hearing it. Made having a conversation with the guy sitting next to me really difficult. When the music was playing it was bordering on the painful. Don't know what the decibals are but they must be close to causing some harm. Health & Safety risk? The club need to take the high volume seriously and turn it down a notch or two.

Probably the only way the old barnacles that help at the club for 40 years can hear it.
