What happens is you end up having to collect them from.the away ground. You very often have to guess where the tickets are going to be, you have to wait for them to turn up and it's incredibly inconvenient having to spend extra time jumping through hoops when in any other situation you'd be in the pub relaxing.

Anyway no need I'll just watch the games online abroad... oh hang on.

Gonna be loads of people miss out including season ticket holders for some away matches. That is going to be hilarious.

Some clubs trialled Ticketmaster's Away game tickets solution last season. I imagine Town are keeping an eye on how things are going. As with all new tech, let others sort out the teething problems and let the price come down.

https://www.sportbus...n-experience-2/

Regards watching away games abroad, that's not in our control. They'll be transmitted by the home clubs, should they so choose. You'll need a VPN if watching from England though.

Aren't you a season ticket holder? Can't you pick up your Derby ticket next Friday?

We have 5'200 season ticket holders. Thinking it hilarious that there'll be numerous games when your fellow Spireites won't be able to get away tickets is quite malevolent imho. It's a really sad way to lead one's life. I hope that some real joy comes into your life sooner than later.

There won't be numerous away sell outs. It's perfectly possible there will be none at all.

For what its worth re the Crewe game Swindon are there after us and they are also telling fans to collect then any not collected will be taken to Crewe for collection. Seems they've only been given just over 400 tickets to start with! So its not just us doing this for games. Like us they can be bought online but collection still needed so i'm guessing Crewe dont have the facility to scan tickets from phones\printed off.

So it appears they charge top dollar and only offer antiquated entrance facilities

Harrogate 800, Grimsby about 1100 + Notts County have been capping teams at 2200 (Stockport, Wrexham, Grimsby all last season). Fleetwood Boxing Day around 1100 - all potential sellouts you'd imagine if things are going well.
There's a few quite small away ends now as teams have moved away fans around or done what we have done and taken advantage of swelled home crowds to reduce down the away following.

Notts County is stuck at 1400 at the moment as they are still having major issues with the council and Sage about their safety licence

Surely it is just the case that Swindon are prioritising their season ticket holders like we do if there is any chance of an away sell out. Once that is done then paper tickets are issued as Derby are doing. I don't think it is a case that we are demanding paper tickets per se, just that clubs ticket systems can't cope with away clubs demanding priority, whether it is by ST holders first or a more complex points system.

I think that may have been what DerbySpirite was referring to in his post about Ticketmaster's new facility. I notice Swindon are using the same system as us so maybe other clubs are gravitating towards this common platform and this problem may get resolved and barcodes (and hence e-tickets) can be shared by clubs

Yep that is what they are doing as the initial allocation is less than 500 for them although it is a 12:30pm kick off on Sky+ as well. I think whenever the away club needs to prioritise to season ticket holders first then they have to be sold by the away club unless all the clubs are on some big ticketmaster system with shared database for points etc that allows it to be done and thats not going to happen. Once you have that priority needed it makes it hard to be anything other than paper tickets and clubs dont seem to trust the postal system for sending them out in time when its just as easy for them to take any uncollected tickets with them to be picked up at the ground.

The odd person seems to find that idea completely unacceptable.

Ahhh finally I can feel the football season is nearly with us. The clear sign is Town Fan moaning about tickets, and I?m guessing a good portion of his points are out of the control of CFC, but of course it?s Croot?s fault.

The person in question would probably still moan if it was hand delivered to his bedside, with an extra £20 and free access to the CCTV of any match we're playing in. He's got an axe to grind and his whet stone has worn away.

Keep an eye on who gets tickets for every single away match no matter what, lets see how much you laugh then.

Derby Away still only open to season ticket holders. Fair play they got first dibs but does there come a point when the rest of us get a chance at buying them?

Are you prepared to name those to whom you allude? I think you should, but I doubt that you will.

As per this on the website - https://chesterfield...tickets-on-sale

Quote

Season ticket holders will have until Thursday (August 1) to purchase tickets and any remaining tickets will then go on general sale the following day.

Unless we are selling out every away end and folk are missing out on a regular basis to folk who you allege are getting some unwritten priority i dont see any sort of issue to be honest.
