I can't place the wrestling doorman, but it's been a very long time. I know there was Wes and Rob, who was also a taxi driver, but I'm struggling trying to remember that thug. It certainly isn't down to the strength of the beer in there 😄. Hold on, it wasn't him with no neck and the slicked back hair or am I thinking of Hale and Pace 😂😂😂.
I watched the comedians, as they were on the telly,at the Palladium, I think. We were that far back, they'd replaced the opera glasses for telescopes.
I think Waterstones would have had to extend their bookcase a few storey to stock that book mate😁.

He wasn't at the Adam & Eve for very long thankfully mate. I only remember him working there through him being on the box and him unceremoniously dumping me outside. Unsurprisingly I didn't go back in there after that incident for quite a while and when I did finally return he wasn't working there anymore.
He was wrestling around the time when Kent Walton used to do the commentary on World of Sport and it was around the time of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Kendo Nagasaki et al.
He was one of the less famous one's of the time and I still can't remember his name though.
Didn't our ex owner Dave Allen own the place at the time? If he as I believe did and I had a crystal ball or time machine back then I would have never patronised the place knowing what I know now!

I'll ask about mate, I'm pretty sure that you won't be the only one he got his maulers on.
Yes, pigeon boy owned the Adam and Eve, and if most Spireites could do a quantum leap, the place would have been trashed every night. I must admit it was my least favourite of the three we've mentioned, because it tried to be something it wasn't. It was supposed to be an upmarket version of Jingles but, in my opinion, it wasn't up to much. It turned out to be his first failed venture in the borough, the second, no Spireite will forgive him for.

I thought it was Aluminium as I knew it was dead slippy and it had loads of dimples in it where glasses had been dropped on it so not sure now 😅

Apparently no problems last night with the PA system in the Leicester v Palermo game, the installers had been back and fixed the problem.

Yes it was definitely George. He was a big lad wasn't he? You wouldn't liked to have messed him around!

My first job after leaving school was as an apprentice motor mechanic. I believe they're called motor vehicle technicians these days lol. George used to come into the garage where I was working quite often as he was seeing a lady that lived just across the road from it. He was always friendly and pleasant when he came in but as I said in a earlier post I wouldn't have wished to be on the wrong side of him.

George and his brother Danny were doormen at the Aquarius. They both came along on Barry Watson?s stag night in Sheffield, at the Top Rank. What a night that was, turned into a proper battlefield in the Top Rank and carried on into Pond Street Bus Station.

I've just looked at his photo, and I still don't remember him. Judging by his physique, I'm surprised any punters got in the club, even with the double doors open 😁. He was deaf according to wicki so he can't have been owt you said mate, so it sounds like a very painful case of wrongful identity 🤔.

Yes he was deaf mate and as such he had speech difficulties too. I often wondered if it was mistaken identity too as I had only been in the club a matter of a minute or so when he dragged me out. I hardly had chance to say or do anything wrong. I know it can happen as some years ago an old workmate of mine had an identical twin and his twin brother had allegedly had a confrontation with a doorman in a town centre pub one night. My workmate went in the same pub around a week later and the doorman spotted him at the bar and mistaking him for his twin he dragged him out into the alley behind the pub and beat him up. He was kicked about the head during the beating and ended up hospital in a coma and he sadly passed away around a week later. He was a really likeable bloke and he was only in his twenties. It was an absolute tragedy.
