I?m not saying we will go down but this summer takes me back to summer of 2011, when we were desperately short in several areas.
Hope a few more incomings materialise before the 9th.
So you're really disappointed are you? Putting to one side the injuries to Madden / Shecks and that we're in the market for another goalie, which other positions do you believe require strengthening and at whose expense?

Extensions handed to the likes of Quigley just didn?t make sense
Going into the new season with no improvement in the strike force is demoralising
Putting to one side your obvious dislike of Quigley, where do we need to strengthen and at whose expense?

I also don't think we have assembled a squad yet that is capable of challenging at the top, but I do think we have one capable of finishing midtable, which I think is realistic.
We are a RB short, a CB short and still no keeper. I also worry that we are all in on Grigg, and if he doesn't fire, isn't fit we may struggle at that end of the pitch too.
I fully expect us to move on some players next week, which will free up some budget to try and cover some gaps, but I think we are a bit bit less organised than we were last summer

I've not seen our current squad play a game in division 2 yet. For the record, which players are not good enough?

Never fear , it?ll only take a good win and decent performance and he?ll be predicting automatic promotion. The guys opinion changes with every minute of a game. Crazy.

Looking at the bigger picture of where the club is in general must alleviate any short term possible disappoint.
Knee jerk not........

There are a number of posters on here who have not seen us play so far this season and who saw relatively few games last season, yet they profess a profound knowledge of what lies ahead. I despair!

Up front is desperately short, unless the plan is Quigley or playing folk OOP

Madden was bought to play in the 10
Drummond was predominantly a winger bought as a a development prospect from 3 leagues below
So no I don?t

Well if the talk of a left sided centre back coming in and the obvious need of a keeper either back up or first choice, the possible addition of the trialist we are about where the doomsters would like us to be.
Maddens not out for ever and Joe isn't as bad qs some folk want him to be.
We need more optimists on here!

I don't think we'll do too badly this season, but we certainly won't dominate like we did the last. The players we have already are good enough to go up, but it depends on form and injuries.

He was playing against Worksop Town and various Colliery sides, do you think he?s a suitable back up for Grigg then?

No idea although Cook and co obviously think he adds something to have signed him. No matter what level he was at the scoring record was decent and the bits i saw of him he seemed to play down the middle up front not wide.

That's a shame you can't make it tonight mate cos I was going to ask if you wanted to meet up for a pre match Vimto and a Wagon Wheel lol

I hope we see a bit more creativity in and around the box tonight than we did last Saturday too.
Hope that old hamstring problem of yours isn't the reason for your absence tonight lol.
Gonna live while I'm alive I'll sleep when I'm dead

I went to see Macc play In the play offs, Drummond was wide right cutting in, same as Berry is on the left.
You may get a chance to see him for yourself tonight
