Seventh consecutive win over Yorkshire in limited overs cricket at Chesterfield. Two great wins in two days, todays being the sweetest. The enigma that is Derbyshire cricket. Would be great if they could qualify. More games at Chesterfield please.

Thanks for coming Yorkshire. That was almost as comprehensive as their Championship win.

First paragraph from the brief BBC Sport report....didnt seem that difficult as they recovered with a decent partnership then we cantered home.

Quote

Derbyshire Falcons made light work of Yorkshire Vikings on a difficult pitch at Chesterfield, reducing the visitors to 130-9 to set up a seven-wicket win with five overs to spare.

Don't think Derbyshire found the pitch difficult. They strolled home.

Just watched the first few overs of their innings on Youtube and it swung a bit and there was a bit of spin but it was hardly a minefield and as you say the way it went with them getting up to 130 from 25-6 and how we chased them down it wasnt that bad to bat on.

I think having a world class bowler like Amir leading the attack makes a big difference. He might have lost a bit of pace but his experience and variation are extremely useful in T20 games. It is a shame that he is only going to play 6 T20 games.

Massive respect to Joe Root on becoming Englands leading test2 match run scorer going above Alistair Cook and closing in on the top four above him.
I?ve had the pleasure of seeing Joe bat for England on many many occasions.

Still plenty more to come from him as well i suspect as a good few years left in him yet. The next three ahead of him are tightly packed with only 90 runs separating them. They are about 600 ahead of Root currently so at this rate it wont take long to reel them in.

Serious partnership he is in with Brook currently as well now the highest of any for England. Yes its a flat batting paradise with nothing for the bowlers but to bat for the time they have and pile on the runs at 5 an over is silly. Looks like Brook especially is looking to push the rate on as well now with an eye on Pakistan batting again today. So far Root has been off the field for just 8 balls in the whole match!

I'll hazard a guess that by the time he finishes Harry Brook may not be far behind Roots final total.

He'd get them in this innings if it was a timeless test2!

Decent win in the end, once they get the breakthrough this morning that was that. Pakistan a batter light but doubt he would have last that long anyway.

Apparently we've conceded 500+ in the first innings three times now since Mccullum took over....won all three games!

The team for the next test2 could be interesting. Stokes clearly wants to play but who will they drop? Pope would seem to be the likely casualty unless they drop one of the bowlers.

It won't matter what side we put out, have you heard what the lunatics in charge of the Pakistan team are doing? They're dropping Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi and going to use the road that Root & Brook would like to roll up and take round the world with them! It's like they want their asses handing to them!
"Do you think I'm here for your amusement" & good riddance to bad rubbish

Saw they were dropping Azam but not afridi?.wouldn?t be surprised if there has been a bust up behind the scenes.
