I don?t think anyone has to justify their opinion of Southgate. Apart from the odd 5 mins here and there up until last night we?ve absolutely stunk the joint out. We?ve been fortunate with the draw, and got out of jail twice. Last night we were excellent and hoping for more of the same Sunday.. nothing more nothing less.

To the point overview, can't see how pro or anti GS can argue with that.Well said.

Football is about opinions that?s what?s great about it, I have argued with my dad more times over football than anything else, it?s not personal but never back down, I don?t agree with a lot of things Southgate does but I like him as a person , he is a great man manager like venables snd sir Bobby robson

Good points. The only think you failed to say is that I am usually right!!

Was the Ollie Watkins substitution a bit of excellent research based on Watkins scoring 4 goals against a Liverpool team with Van Dijk in defence in the last year.

A mate of mine is devastated.

He bought tickets and booked accomodation for the Berlin final only to realise it clashes with his wedding.

So, if anyone would like to take his place the wedding's at...

I officially resign from trying to talk sense into the anti-GS brigade as it's obviously a waste of time and effort. Their blindly dogmatic line is that when England play poorly it's 100% due to the manager, and when they play brilliantly it's 0% due to the manager. I'm wasting no more time and effort even trying to reason with them because they are hell bent on blaming JS for every negative, and refusing to credit him with anything positive. I'm finished.

I'd have some sympathy with that, but so far, in the face of pages of detailed analysis of where things are going wrong, you've only managed to come up with one fact - we're winning. Fair enough, but don't give us the line that we're all thick because we think Southgate is poor. The only person not advancing any analysis or sensible argument is you.
Your opinion is just as valid as anybody elses, but since it's been arrived at without any rational analysis, or none you've shared with us, it's hardly the intellectual gold you seem to think it is. Any outside observer reading this thread with no prior knowledge would assume it was you who was a bit short of intellect

It?s a not too well known fact that every single time England win a major tournament , the previous year West Ham United won a major European trophy ? and also the West Ham United Captain in the major European victory(s) played for England in the successful Nation Mager competition victory (s)
Spooky
