I know having a few competitive run outs is important, however they are hardly competitive. The thing is once upon a time they had 3, 4 or 5 at the most pre season friendlies which is surely enough. Now they have 6,7 8. Are all these really necessary with the risk of injury they entail - even without full commitment it's possible - or is it just a money making exercise?

Bigger squads require more games to give all players minutes on the pitch

With the size of squads now bigger than before, the more friendlies we have the more minutes individual players can get on the pitch.

The coaches will all have plans for each player to get a certain amount of minutes in the tank prior to the season starting

Like today I guess the plan was for Quigley,Drummond and Grigg to get 30 mins each.

Once upon a time is not a good way of doing things (usually).
Once upon a time a warm up was 2 laps of a pitch, pre season was running around a park and pre match meal was steak.

Each pre season match is an experiment - in tactics, tempo, formation etc

I was going to look at how many were likely to be there today but when I go into the new ticket portal on my mobile it just says 'unable to load seat map' for all the friendlies.

*Maybe 3000 home fans looking on desktop and a similar number of them.

Tell ya what, the pitch looks lush and the sound system is great! We can have a right old party if they get the tunes right ;)

Well done on the improvements. It?s just taken everything up a level.

It?s all just beginning to feel real!

Unless 3000+ tickets have been sold in the last couple of hours someone is pulling your leg.

Only if they arrange a deal with us separate to the one covering NL grounds.

Goal disallowed for Forest. Boot came and got nowhere. Didn't look a foul.

Surely anyone advertising is paying for the privilege??
