You have to question when all and sundry can see the problems, what do the coaching staff see, surely they all can't be of the same mindset or is Southgate such an authoritarian person (I doubt it) that their input is minimal?

Or maybe it's all a big ruse, giving the teams we should meet later a false impression and we then go all guns a blazing and catch them on the hop.

Bump.

Maybe they knew what they were doing, or maybe not!!!!

You have to give credit where credits due, but we need to keep the pressure on teams instead of backing off and giving them space, because Spain will make us pay.

To paraphrase Napoleon, give me a lucky General every time.

Still don?t like Southgate, he was out thought in the second half tactically and it nearly paid off. Doubt the penalty would have been given in English leagues.

We have to negate the wing threat against Spain, does he go to a back 4 starting with Shaw or retain the current formation and occupy their wingers further up the pitch.

Strangely enough, anywhere else on the pitch it is a clear 100% free kick so why not in the box

It wasn't a free kick. He didn't lunge recklessly. He raised his foot to stop the flight of the ball and Kane kicked it, then pretended to be injured. How was he supposed to stop the shot? His foot had to be at the same height as the ball.

Four officials didn't give it. Commentators didn't give it. That lass that ITV roll out for the occasion, some kind of VAR world expert, definitively said it wasn't a foul then offered a half assed change of mind after the event that nicely sums up the whole farce.

Folk on here who claim to have said 'that's a penalty' spontaneously really meant 'I predict that the VAR man will say that was reckless'.

Forgetting the debate over if it was a penalty or not for a second, there is no way Kane was pretending to be hurt. Anyone who has played football at any level and has booted the bottom of someone else's boot like that knows is stings like a Mother?uc3r.

Being 'stung', as you'll observe if you watch any elite match, is now a device to force a stoppage.

He was late and as a result fouled Kane. Albeit only a split second late but when the ref was told to look at the screen he got a better view than his original sighting of the contact and correctly awarded a free kick in this case
a penalty.
One clown of a pundit (Neville maybe) implied because it was in the area different tolerance levels (my words) should be applied, t1t

The point Neville made was that defenders have the right to challenge / block shots which is exactly what the defender did.

In my opinion it wasn?t a penalty

Fair enough, we've all seen it enough times to draw our own conclusions.

However been town fans is it possible we don't recognise what a penalty is anymore.

I didn't think it was a penalty when it happened and I still don't, but it's not my call thankfully,so on we go. I'm sure that the Dutch would have been very happy if it had been awarded their way at the other end. If we didn't all have opinions about the game, there'd be no Bob's board.

What was he late at?
He wasn't trying to be first to the ball and clear it. He was trying to block the shot.
