No you didn?t just ask a question. The boards still here and a lot better than it was so that?s where your tenners gone.
ok then probably 3 questions in a nice polite manner, end off no need to reply.

I've figured out where the ? replacing ' is coming from, it's predictive text on phones. When you put a word in that is predicted to put in a ' it's replacing it with the ?. I usually post on here from my laptop so the issue doesn't arise in my posts but it did today when I did one on my phone.

It?s just struggling with characters like that, pound signs etc in general as they need handling as they can be part of web code as well as characters in text that is being posted. I wrote a post earlier quoting a fee that everton had paid typed on my PC and it replaced the pound sign with a question mark.

Thing is, even on iPhone, if you preview the post- it doesn?t show the question marks.

And on both the iPad and iPhone if u edit the post and put back in the correct punctuation marks then this time they remain.

Hi Al,
Hopefully you are still reading this thread.
Last year I posted that I am unable to leave positive or negative votes on posts.Someone responded with what they thought I needed to do in settings. When I got around to do it I could not find my post or the response.I have been through all my settings without finding anything I can relate to voting.I have read the help pages without seeing anything relating to the subject.
When I click on red or green Message box showing 'Action Failed:You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day'.
Any ideas anybody?

Not sure on the best place to put this, but just been a look at the new online safety act that's due to come into place in March. This post on another forum explains it all better than I can: https://www.lfgss.co...sations/401475/

Is this expected to have impact on this forum?

Apply, yes but as a small site. Impact, hopefully minimal; there may be the need to remove some functionality, and some boards may need additional rules to be accepted before being viewed.

Interesting thread here, Wycombe’s forum may close due to (amongst other things) the new requirements under the Online Safety Act

Hey All

Thanks for wanting to keep this forum going into the next season. Our web hosting bill is due shortly and whilst the admin and mod team are in a position to keep the board running, we do need some help with the costs.

If you’d be able to help out with a donation, however small, it would really help us ensure this forum stays online for the next season and further.

You can contribute at https://gofund.me/9b1553e7. GoFundMe take 2.9% + 25p of every donation as payment processing fees, and they offer an “optional” 15% “tip” that goes to them, none of this tip goes towards our fund.

Thanks so much

Al, and the forum team

Hi All

Just a brief update as unfortunately this time of year is hugely busy for me at work.

Last year we ran a GoFundMe to raise funds for the board for the 24-25 season; that raised £682 (£651.69) after fees. After paying the hosting fee last year, and just paying this year we now have £267.69 left in the pot. That’ll be good for another year of hosting (this time next year) as well as having more than enough for a domain renewal when that comes along. Neither myself or the moderators receive any recompense for managing this forum.

No need for any more donations at this time, just wanted to update everyone who donated and keep this all transparent.

Thanks, Al
