If they expect to see a sparking performance every game then they’ll be disappointed whoever they decide to follow.

Agreed. A number on here have said they will be happy with consolidation next year (I think we’ll at least challenge for the play off places). But news for the moaners and groaners today, and those who think mid table will be fine next season; by definition they’ll be a lot more days like today.

Perhaps the players and management are testing our resolve.
In the knowledge we have Colclough, Grigg, Tyrer, a fit Berry, Jacobs, plus Grimes to come in. In addition no doubt three, four or five new signings.

I’m genuinely shocked at the lack of respect from the players to the fans turning up, travelling and paying their hard earned.

Not a single one of those players wanted to be playing today.
Not one.
And you’d think that some would be desperate to earn a contract.

Whilst I agree with you on the whole, Dobra did seem to act like he actually cared……after their second goal he was berating the players and trying to get the fans involved

It's been a great stroke of luck that Grigg's injury occurred after we got over the line.

To lose our proud unbeaten home record to a team no better than Sunday league is the thing that as really annoyed me. Never before have we gone an whole season unbeaten at home and that includes the cup competitions so to put that performance in today was gutting.

I’m in this camp. He’s one of, if not the only player of ours that gets credit from today. He was the only one trying to create anything and when he did he got booted to the ground which didn’t help.

You'd have to assume we'd have gone out and replaced him if need be

I'm more disappointed to lose the unbeaten home record with only 2 to go before today.
Kidderminster are not a good side but we didn't look a threat up top, and then couldn't handle there threat, lost too many headers,

Can accept players having off days, but today showed a few won't be good enough stepping up to league 2, those being out of contract did themselves no favours.

Anyway let's not get too depressed,

I’ll concede that he put the most effort in out of everyone.
Jason the Kit Man came second.

He certainly wasn’t top of the hit list for s**t performances today.
He has absolutely no service whatsoever.
We played without a central midfield for the majority of the game. I’ve never said this before, but Naylor was dreadful and a very very poor captain. Mandeville wanted far too long on the ball. Jones was off it. Banks never made a pass to a blue shirt. Berry did absolutely nothing when he came in. Dobra made the odd threatening run with no end product. Hobson may as well have not been on the pitch. Curtis looked totally out of his depth when he came on.

Need 2 wins out of last 3 for 100 points and that’s not going to happen.

Random thoughts from today.

We've won the league.

In no particular order.

Cook off the touchline might show us how much the players rely on his constant instructions to function. If so, they shouldn't do. Hopefully Cook was sitting up high with a decent vantage point. If so, he may have had some things confirmed today.

The significant changes in the side may have broken the camel's back today. The norm today was that we'd get the ball then have to look around to see if anyone else wanted it / was available to get it. As such we were so laboured in possession that they thrived.

We lost - in truth, that didn't really matter. Cook may have finalised his thoughts about a few without contracts and a few who have them. Cook may have confirmed where we need to strengthen. As has been said on here Dobra put in a shift, Quigley reverted to wrestling and complaining, Banks messed about with his tradesmark misplaced Hollywood passes when far easier ones with equal gain were on offer, King looked unfit, Naylor looked a shadow of the player from the autumn, Jones read the game and gave his 7/10+ showing, Clements didn't pull up any trees, Palmer didn't do especially well against their no 9.

Freckleton and Berry are capable enough to do a job in L2. What is the most worrying today is that Freckleton had a mare and seemed quite 'down' before he came off. Berry had another frustrating game in which he showed some barely acceptable annoyance with teammates more often than you'd like to see. If I'm right (and I hope that I'm wrong) these two things are possibly the biggest downers today. These two young men are good footballers. They could be very valuable to us and go on to have very good careers. If anything copmes out of today, I hope that it helps these two to keep their heads up.

It's been agreat season; it's a shame that we've got a few more games if this is what we'll be up too.

Naylor would benefit from a few games off, he’s been off it for a good while now.

Good post. Freckleton looked nervous all game and physically not up to it. Same for Clements. Sorry and thanks but not in L2.

Berry…played with his back to the goal.

Banks …delighted he’d re-signed previously but I wouldn’t renew.

Biggest shame is the decline of king. Clearly loves the club but sorry I wouldn’t renew.

Motm Mandy for trying.

Disappointed and I know we’re champions etc but to see us unbeaten at home would have been brilliant…a great record.

Confidence breeds confidence and winning adds more to ST sales. Today just felt like CBA. Won’t be going away to Gateshead.

Flat. Roll on next season.

Agree with this. He ran games early in the campaign and for the last month maybe six weeks he’s just looked like a run of the mill NL midfielder. In fairness to him, other than Grimes, he’s the only player who has never been rotated. If anyone needs a rest it’s him and I’m very surprised he hasn’t been given one in the last couple of months.

Which back four are you on about? The one today because Palmer is. Or the regular back four where Grimes, William, Shecks and I believe Horton is

Are you sure Palmer is contracted into next season?

I’ve seen nothing to confirm that and that’s why I thought the back four of King, Palmer, Freckleton & Clements are out of contract.

Must admit it looked a step too far for Freckleton after 3 months out and Clements hardly did anything for those who think he is ahead of Horton.

It’s difficult, and probably wrong, to place blame but our midfield pair of defensive senior players, Jones and Naylor, looked seriously out of sorts and certainly didn’t lead by example. Of the three in front Hobson ran around but more after the ball than with the ball, Mandeville fell down with regularity as if dizzy from his 360 degree turns, whilst Dobra did try to drive forward but continually ran out of options. Of the 3 subs neither Berry nor Curtis achieved anything at all whilst Banks seemed to be coasting in some sort of back 3 role. As such, Quigley was isolated with absolutely no service whatsoever. Some might think this was down to his lack of movement but I also consider the lack of movement from those 9 behind him played a part.

They already have my money for season tickets in League Two, but it’s not just one poor home game that will have some concerned is it ….

The post mortem today should be all about our penchant to concede, and then inability to defend dead ball situations. In beating Kidderminster last week, the Altincham manager said he knew they could win IF they could do it , and they did. That's long throws and free kicks. Nowt else.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on
