Assistant manager and previous caretaker manager Mike Dodds to take charge until the end of the season and then they will look longer term. Probably the right option as it'll be difficult to get it right this time of the season.

Now confirmed, whilst he did not get fans onside he was hardly given much of a chance, something seriously up there, mowbray should never have gone

Wife and Father in law are big Sunderland fans so i see and hear a lot about them. There was more to the Mowbray thing than just on the pitch etc, he very nearly left in the summer over some disagreement which they managed to sort. They do have this long term plan of the types of players they are trying to sign that will hopefully be sold on in the future for good profit and at times its maybe gone a bit far. They've ended up this season with a very youthful side especially up front that has cost them and some fans havent been happy with it. Beale's appointment was a crap one from the start especially after other names were linked etc that were much better, he's not been well liked at most places hes been and a few bits he's done off the field havent helped him at Sunderland. In a way its probably best he's gone sooner and the club have realised it wasnt working.

I too have alot of family and friends that support sunderland and it seems they never learn duff managerial appointments and high turnover of managers has cost the club dearly over the years

Our last few seasons have proven there's a wealth of UK talent in the lower leagues.

Why the constant need to look abroad....?

Spot on. We also hear of folk banging on saying there should be more bame managers, what about the severe lack of english managers

There had been a host of younger English managers got jobs recently at the likes of Oxford, Millwall, Plymouth etc. That said I’d rather they got a guy in from abroad than keep recycling the likes of warnock and co.

Or maybe because it seems more cool to get a continental in. Makes me wonder where they rake these guys up from , work with agents on the continent

True but alot of those from abroad seem to have no experience of english leagues as players, coaches or managers. Can work in premier league but a league 1/2 club getting some random continental guy often never ends well

“Raked up” ? You don’t think a club owner / chairman/ board does research before employing a manager?

I seem to remember someone criticising appointing James Rowe saying with his record he shouldn’t have been appointed here.

There are 23 teams in a league - do you expect them all to win the league?

Any appointment is a gamble- from football manager l, to MP to teacher etc etc

There’s either 20 or 24 in our top 5 leagues.
I don’t, but apparently owners do. Hence, after supposed deep research, managers are sacked after a dozen or so games.

You’ll have to speak to Croot to explain some of those!

True. Someones got to finish bottom and alot of these chairman dont realise that hence why you see some teams going through 3 managers a season.

Not sure the transfer policy is that flawed, could do with a decent striker but since it’s started they’ve been promoted from league 1, made the championship playoffs and on the brink of the playoffs this season. They’ve also got clubs looking at numerous players including potentially trebling their money on Jack Clarke.

Don’t go looking at what qpr and rangers fans say about Beale if what’s online currently bothers you.
