Quigley may have the best goals per minutes played in europe, will he want 20 minutes a game next season?

Being as the squad next season is going to virtually the same as it is now, with possibly a cpl more additions, one a striker if rumours are to be believed, and he’s just signed a one year contract extension, that would suggest he’s happy with how he’s being utilised and more than happy to be part of it, wouldn’t it?

Really enjoyed it yesterday, yes we gave the ball away a lot, misplaced passes etc, but always had the quality to come out on top. Think the excellent goal from Berry early on helped massively, had we not scored in the first half, I think we might have struggled as Southend were no mugs but our quality shone through.

A shout out to the hospitality team in the spires lounge, very well set up, attentive staff, great food and a couple of legends in there (Waller and Hewitt), with a cameo from John Lowe promoting his exhibition night. Would definitely do it again.

Not a bad result to be found, today! Good old football. Special mention for Agent J-Bowz helping out down the road. Smashing.

Mark my words, they’ve got it coming from us next season if they don’t manage to scrape up which is looking increasingly unlikely. I have this image of Dobra shi*housing the quarry lane end with a celebration after he’s waltzed through their defence.

If they do manage to get up, it will be because all those around them striving for top 3 (Barrow, Crewe etc) also can’t seem to put a consistent string of wins together either.

They bang on about NL standard being poor, I think they need to look a little closer to home.

In the eyes of the referee!!!

One thing I did notice yesterday was we didn’t do this “6 passes inside our own penalty area thing” and went longer from the keeper instead with regularity. At times it emphasised our lack of raw pace but generally it made us less vulnerable to their pressing game.

In the first half they forced us to go long by pressing high, and it gave them a lot of possession because Grigg had little chance against his giant marker. As usual, our patient build-up play gradually wore them down in the second half, then Quigley and Dobra finished them off.

Highlights up on YouTube. That clearance from Williams was important. First and 3rd goal quality moves and another one when Berry’s shot was blocked. Are we showing off a bit?

Grigg was in no way shape or form poor today.

Do you think high balls pumped up to his is his type of game? Were there any balls passed into his kill zone? Becuase I don't. Couldnt play out from the back as there were a player on each of our CH's so we had to go long. Just not Griggs type of game today

Don’t you think it was too far in front of him as I’m sure he didn’t let it go across him deliberately?

Said for a while on his game williams is our best centre half,in the last 6 months the other 2 have improved,we have 3 CH who can cope league above

I agree. Palmer is liable to be caught out for pace when committed close to the half-way line. Williams is an excellent player and can easily play successfully in a League Two side pressing at the top (where we should and I expect us to be).

No way we wouldn’t beat Sutton at home

It’s a foul, he gets nowhere near the ball and just flattens Williams. Had an outfield player done it anywhere else on the pitch the ref gives a foul without thinking. Had it been the other way round the ref gives a foul against Williams without a second thought.

No one commented, because it's what they've come to expect from the officials in this league.
