Often said this…bizarre how they remove seats from sale and then add em back in again. They've now blocked E1and E2 for sarfend fans when there was still 150 odd available.

….and…back on again!

Indeed - some convoluted simultaneous equation ratio needed to explain this. If they are not sold, surely they should be available for sale online - simple as.

It will be close imo.

Woking was close but that was because we hesitated too much going forward. Against the poorest team we’ve played so far (excluding Gateshead who let’s face it could hardly have raised a team so it doesn’t´count) we gave them too much hope of grabbing an equalizer when the game should have been won well before the glaring miss in the last 5m.
Teams are bound to see us as a big challenge and by and large will raise their game on the day especially when we’re at home so we need to stop fannying around in the first half and hit the opposition where it hurts and stop allowing 10 men to get back behind the ball before we attempt to get the ball in where it hurts. There were numerous occasions midweek where it was screaming to hit a first time cross into the box from both wings but instead an extra touch either meant the ball found it’s way sideways or back to Tyrer !
Yes we play some lovely football at times but there’s no harm in gambling either from time to time but I get the impression that the players have been told to keep possession come what may. Grigg thrives on the ball played early in the 18 yard box from what I’ve seen at previous clubs whereas on at least one occasion this week he was asked to chase a long ball which just isn’t his game. He’s scored a few this season but not enough without the right service.
We can kill all games by halftime but like me and lots of others we end up sitting on the edge of our seats for most of the game. Strange but true even though wéve only lost 3 games!

They’ve not raised their game very well given we’ve won 17 on the trot at home.

The lads will be pleased to hear this advice, thank you for your service. Only the 2 points dropped at home all season.

Fully agree. We have got away with it last couple of games but we take the points. I think tomorrow we will need to play better. I am going for a draw.

We have nothing to fear from Southend. We can beat anyone.

You watched a different match to me. They shut us down with ease and made us make those mistakes. They stopped us from playing ,that’s why we didn’t play well. If you’ve got 11 fit committed team members who approach the game saying “for 90+ minutes we will shut you down and pick up the scraps “. This will be our hardest test to date.

The question is though whatever tactics they used in the first match will they be able to play with that same intensity for a second time on our own pitch?

If we play to our full capability I would hope and think not

Barnet came in second place and played well in the first half but were blown away with our intensity in the second half

Heres hoping however we do not need such intensity in the second half tomorrow

I know the points difference make their task almost impossible but I want the records to remain a target/possibility to give us focus until the end of the campaign.

Irrelevant of what your average fan thinks, cookie preaches (and is usually screaming from the touching) PATIENCE!!! So yes we might have had chances to get early crosses in, but with one striker (who’s hardly prolific with his head), usually up against 2/3 taller centre halves you can see why cookie hates it and doesn’t want us doing it.

The record speaks for itself so criticising the tactic is a bit of a head-scratcher.

You need to watch a different team. Why is it we have won 23 out of 28 games. Better players win games playing that way. Not sure you attended 2 seasons ago? Apologies if you did.

Yes, but we need to stop ‘fannying around in the first half’. Don’t you understand? Our home record simply isn’t good enough.

Banks in that podcast thing covered this, the passing making the opposition chase things wears them down and they take advantage as the opposition get tired second half. At times we will also have good first halves as well but in the end as long as come 90 mins we’ve won it doesn’t matter how we get there.

I sometimes think in reality they can’t tire, because half the time the opposition just sit back and watch us switch play from one side to another and back again. There’s little chasing going on.
Half in jest, do they just become bored trying to concentrate on keeping shape, and eventually switch off when a more incisive move comes along?
