There are no easy games.

Southend are on a post takeover high and their players, already encouraged by beating us once, will join every other we meet in wanting to make a name for themselves at our expense.

But 'Bobby Darling' is right - we must stick to our proven patience.

I just hope we've a ref' who'll allow that...

I think it shows up the standard of refs in this league when you encounter an EFL referee in the cup. I'll be so glad when we get back to the football league, hopefully at the end of this season or to be more accurate,by beating Oldham comfortably at their dump.

21 of the 24 clubs are full-time.
All have had 20+ players on their books this season. Even the part-time teams. Some have seen loanees recalled, and injuries hit. There's also Southend who are coming out the other side.
The 3 part-time clubs, Wealdstone, Dorking and Oxford City are southern with players who could easily join full-time NL/L2 clubs, but choose not to. They earn more being part-time footballers.

With 900 off away it should be 9000 Saturday but looks like plenty of tickets available with half of the North Stand closed

I thought it’d be better with the first Saturday home game for ages against higher profile opponents

N1 is sold out, N2 is about sold out and N3 is about 2/3rds sold...only N4 & N5 that are currently not on sale. So 2 blocks out of 5 is hardly "most" of it!

Southend have sold 775 seats so far

2nd Row of the South Stand is now available for Sale, which normally sells out along with most of the front Row between now and kicks off.

N1 & N4 may have been saved for Offers and last minute sales.

Currents Total Seats Sold so far is around 8,515

Just seems strange that N4 and 5 say locked but N1 says sold out then....

The ticket availability shown for the North stand is not really reliable.
Some matches show various blocks sold out on to find on match day there’s seats all over in there. Often wondered if it’s put some folk off from going if they only see limited front row seats available on the site. When the North stand will have seats free in all blocks.
East stand second class citizen.

I think you're right. Did Oxford go full-time with coming up?. The reports all say 3 clubs are semi-professional. I know Wealdstone is definitely part-time.

According to Wikipedia Oxford are part time. They would struggle going full time on their attendances.
Marc White was on Not Tippy Tappy podcast with Sam Allardice saying there are only two part time clubs but I don't think he is correct.
Decent listen by the way, on YouTube.

8,515 sold. Day before the game. Allowing for walk ups etc we are looking at a 9k crowd for a National League game in January. Wow. Support levels genuinely amazing me at the minute. Hopefully with Cook we can keep the momentum going and get this young fans hooked before we have an inevitable bad season at some stage.

A far cry from 3000 at Saltergate.

Don’t we announce tickets sold rather than bums on seats?

Often said this…bizarre how they remove seats from sale and then add em back in again. They’ve now blocked E1and E2 for sarfend fans when there was still 150 odd available.
