Sheckleford and Dobra hadn't played for 10 days and looked a bit rusty tonight. Maybe they could have benefited from half a game at Welling (together with Quigs and the skipper)?🤫🤔😄

I said the same thing after about 20 minutes. Grimes was also a bit shaky to start with, but he played himself out of it and ended up having a decent game. I thought Altrincham had a lot of pacy players who looked very threatening against us for much of the game. Glad we got there eventually with that brilliant winner, but they gave us a scare.

Although the way we rotate the team, when we play only on Saturdays, we have players coming in that haven’t played for 2 or even 3 weeks, and rustiness hasn’t been mentioned or evidenced.

Quite true but I'm still sore about the Welling surrender and I needed a way of refreshing the topic.😇

Good evening from deepest, darkest Essex where our favourite team have just reached 80 points, some 22 points ahead of our nearest 'rivals'.
Are there any of you to..ers out there who still think we shouldn't have played (say) 4 first teamers in the Trophy so we still had the prospect of another Wembley visit to look forward to?
Tonight's team selection shows we have the squad
capable of doing the double at a canter. A
massive, money spinning opportunity missed to sign off from this league with a big day out and something to keep the team on their toes. Shame.

Money spinning? The winners get £60000

Very glad we are out. We get to play a league game Sat and pull further clear of Bromley and Barnet who will have to play midweek to catch up

We’ve had enough Tuesday night games, is it 6 out of 8 weeks to start the year?

Very happy we’ve not got anymore because of this shitshow trophy

It wasn’t so much the use of players but the way it leads to rearranged games due to taking priority on a Saturday. As mentioned had loads already since Xmas so best off not bothering with it.

I doubt I’ll even bother celebrating when we win the league. We could’ve also won the prestigious FA Trophy if only we’d put out a stronger team. Curses!!!

If we're not in the game to win trophies then what's the point in playing it?
Having said that though, I'd rather win the trophy for being champions than run the risk of any first teamer injury in the fa trophy.
So, no. I'm delighted that our progression was halted.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Nothing must interfere with the jolly boys’ over-nighter in Newcastle after the Gatesheeeeeed match; it would have been ballsed-up by an FAT semi if we’d stayed in.

You could do with Hereford doing you a favour against gateshead this weekend to be really sure of it still happening.
