Problem with Rooney or any top level player is that the majority or their ability is natural talent and they struggle to understand why other players can’t do it.
In addition it seems that he went into Birmingham and made wholesale changes without first assessing his players which to me says he is totally unsuitable for management

It's entirely possible that given the owner's claims that he'd be changing things by playing 'no fear football,' making wholesale changes could well have been his remit. Either way, I'd say 15 games is far too soon to judge Rooney in his role (though probably not his lack of judgement in taking the job in the first place) but what may just be clear is that they've got an owner who's totally unsuitable for running of a football club.

Shuttleworth was part of the analysis team at Derby when Rooney was there I think. Think I’ve played cricket against him!

He should have learnt his trade alongside an experienced manager in the lower leagues first. Just because he was a brilliant player doesn't make him a great manager in waiting. I think if he's to make it in management, then he needs to be an assistant manager somewhere. I wonder if Exeter need a number two 😁😁😁.

Spot on, look at brian clough, took a job no one wanted at hartlepool and did well and rest is history. Im sure arterra was also a coach at man city before he got the arsenal job. Mind been some big name failures At lower league clubs, teddy sherringham and paul scholes anyone

I don’t think I’ve ever scoffed or questioned S42’s career before though - but hey whatever gets you through the night.

Problem is Rooney was brought in just because of his name not if he is a good manager or not albeit he has had a short managerial career to date
