Iv got a bad feeling it happens I just can’t see why it wouldn’t

I reckon I’d be sacking football off for good if it did. I’ve got PTSD from the first time around.

2nd fav now at 4s. Leighton Baines is drifting out to evens.

Cook 2/1 favourite on betvictor.
There's a Danny Webb at 25/1 for the Sutton job too.

You'd like to think they'll get us over the line and promoted 1st though before they think about leaving.
Here we go again!

When a bigger club comes calling...
I'd like to think he/they'd stay but, just like when Portsmouth came a calling, he was offski fir a bigger & better placed club.
As for Danny Webb, I'm a firm believer that he would be Cook's successor here. He claims to love the club & area and he's been an integral part of what's been built upto now.
He has a lot of emotional investment in the club.

Webb’s link with the Sutton job appears to be as an ex-player and a small amount of chat on social media about him being Cook’s assistant, what a good job they’re doing and take a punt on him.

It doesn't make too much sense to leave right now. He has a board that back him, he has plenty of say over the transfers and he runs things just how he wants it. To leave now would just be the biggest kick in the teeth for us supporters, the board and the players.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Portsmouth was a different scenario, he wasn't being backed any longer, he'd seen his star players being sold from underneath him and not replaced and he was struggling to get new deals for his key players.

On the face of it now he has the backing of the board both financially and ethos-wise, is able to take a back seat in terms of the media duties etc while still being the lynchpin around which the club seems to exist.

Id be VERY surprised if he does go, but if he does he leaves the club in a far better position than when he took back over.

when you see quotes like these being thrown around then you can understand why the Championship would appeal...

Plymouth Live understands that Stoke will pay Argyle a substantial sum of close to seven figures as compensation for the departure of Schumacher and that his salary with the Potters will be in excess of £1 million a year.

A championship club paying a million a year to the manager and a million in compo to get him..... madness.I know they are backed by the online gambling company / same owners but that is still serious money.

Although both previous managers at PAFC seem to have been young and early in their careers so maybe they wouldnt be looking at Cook anyway...
Stay Home. Stay Safe.

Sutton on loan from non league, average attendance 3,000.
CFC on loan from EFL, average attendance 7,500.
Tough choice …..

Paul Cook is a different age now to when he first came to us and left us. Because, of his various management moves he is also, most likely, financially secure. As such, his ambitions and motivations may have changed too. Contentment in life can be worth more than money especially when you have sufficient to live the way you enjoy. He's probably chased the money in the past and, by his own admission about his time at Ipswich, learned that this does not always bring happiness and fulfilment.

I think Paul Cook is now happy with what he's got and for these reasons will find it easier to say "no" to financially better offers which might come his way. I sincerely hope so.

However, if he does move on it would be typical of what can happen at a Club like ours when things are going so well. All we can do as supporters is show our love and backing whilst hoping there is no disruption to our season's progress which, hopefully, ends with promotion.

Looked nailed on along with Sutton to be back in this league next season. Shame there isn’t 3 relegation places so Salford could join them.

Don't write Morecambe off from the drop, facing a points deduction imminently as their owner continues to breach league rules and special sanctions placed on them.

Over the past few years they've had young managers/head coaches working under a technical director. I can't see Cookie going for that to be honest.

Dear PAFC. Please leave Paul Cook where he is. He's happy here and we're all happy to have him here. However, you have our blessings to re-employ John Sheridan if you so wish. Thank you and Happy Christmas. Love Santa the Spireite. :)

I speculated some time ago that Cook might be in the last year of his contract but got short shrift when somebody assured us he was in the middle of a 5 year deal. All I’d say is that this speculation stinks of an agent putting gentle pressure on Crooty and Co to reward partial success - much as Rowe did. This is all just guesswork, but based on the notion that if Cook is only half way through his contract then the compo required would put almost everybody off. Ergo, he’s not.

Well he might be and it’s just paper talk or some speculation and no real interest from Plymouth.

Or it’s just a case of a manager at a lower level who is doing well being linked with a job higher up the pyramid by media and bookies. We know that manager markets are affected massively by a few quid going on someone.

Does PC have an agent? I've no idea, but he strikes me as a bloke who'd sort himself out and not waste cash on an agent.
