There’s a delicious conflict of thought there!

I think anybody who complains to a moderator on a non league football message board about another poster because they have a difference of opinion (regardless what it is) is a completely sad spunkbubble, I can’t imagine being so spineless and petty that I’d ever complain about something I’ve read but that’s just me.
Let me in!

Talk about a thread going off tangent. Hopefully we will finally see the rowe case wrapped up this week, seen world wars over quicker

Agree it needs to get back on topic, the willy-waving stuff should be in the personal section.

That said, Rowes case ain’t gonna be done with this week, I’d expect at least another week maybe more.

Like I said earlier it was a genuine error posting what I did in this thread. Best keep the Willy waving away from here!

Back to Rowe, I'm steering clear of saying anything about the man until after the trial, because it's easy to go too far when you've heard things that could be untrue.

Our criminal justice system is a total farce

It’s ridiculous for all parties

I’ve no idea what JR has or hasn’t done but to have your life and career put on hold for 3 years is unbelievably cruel

And a possible sentence beyond that?

If he’s guilty then he’s been punished enough

What if the bloke is found not guilty?

And the victim, being made to wait another year after mentally preparing for the last year….

Jesus there’s no wonder this country is awash with mental illness

It’s just typical of this **** show of a country

Every single government organisation is broken

From the DVLA to the CPS, it’s all shambolic

"The defence barrister of former Chesterfield Football Club manager James Rowe has issued a scathing attack on the British legal system after being told his trial into sexual assault allegations will not be heard for two years.

Rowe, 40, who has denied the charge, was to stand trial this week at Derby Crown Court.....But a combination of unforced incidents, including the prosecutor becoming unwell after a cyber attack at her chambers left her unable to access important case documents, a broken heating system and a juror not fully understanding English, has led to the scheduled four-day hearing being pushed back until October 7 next year."

Unwell. Cyber attack. Broken heating.

It sounds like the work of Scunthorpe's very own A.Karson QC. Might as well say the dog ate the charge sheets.

Incredibly it would have been December 2025 had it not been for unexpected availability becoming available

How can you say if he’s guilty he has been punished enough without yet knowing what he may be guilty of!

I can’t imagine that whatever he’s been charged with could be so serious you lose your career, your life for three years or more without a trial

It’s about treating people fairly, and this quite clearly isn’t, Rowes defence were ready to go and fully prepared, it’s inhumane whatever he’s done or not done

I’ve no idea but for example he’s not charged with rape, we all know the rumour and supposition

To put someone through this is inhumane, mentally it must be akin to being on Death Row

He's been charged. And without speculating, everyone knows what he's accused of. And that if found guilty it wouldn't be a custodial sentence anyway. So his life and career are effectively ruined for 3 years minimum.

I've a feeling with the hogwash excuses trotted out by the prosecution that they and the CPS would have been happy with a dismiissal of the case. For fairly obvious reasons.

Absolutely, a guilty verdict would be a behavioural program or suspended sentence, what he’s being put through is more severe than any potential sentence

And that’s on the assumption of a guilty verdict
