They just never really made or did anything.
Both teams never looked like scoring.
You certainly couldn’t tell which team were 2 leagues higher.
Will certainly take the win though.

I’d say this was a good indication of where we are as a side.
Not at our best - but we didn’t play a national league side we played a side some 35 places above us in the football pyramid. These are not the likes of Wealdstone. At our best we wouldn’t expect to do “a Barnet” and destroy them in 20 mins. We’d expect to match them. I’d say to get two results like that against higher opposition says we have been at at our best.
We have matched, nay, beaten, a mid table side two divisions above us and table topping Portsmouth from two divisions above us.

I don’t agree We were up for it from the start and so it remained except for a few second half minutes after which they faded again.

perhaps the major difference is that we have a winning mentality, orient probably spend a fair amount of time playing percentages and getting the odd result here and there, enough to keep them afloat, we approach games with a 100& will to win.

On a side note, they went to Bolton and paid £5 a ticket. Bristol Rovers charged £36. Nice blokes as well.

Pretty even, not many chances on goal but Berry got an earful from Quigs.
Mirrored the Pompey game in a way.
We aren’t going to put L1 teams to the sword,
I think the team thought it was going to be easy irrespective of what WELLENS warned them.

Not a wazz take, just interested to know.
'Cos way I saw it they paid us enough respect/were daft enough to adopt away tactics regardless of league standing. Sitting back with no high press, allowing us to play to our strengths as opposed to the way we stopped them passing out from the back.
Fifty-fifty first twenty or so, but Town slowly turned the screw. Meaning the perhaps fortunate OG was no more than we deserved.
Second half they tangibly upped the tempo and forced a degree of threat. Yet didn't/couldn't maintain it. In fact from memory there was only one troubling shot in the entire ninety.
Truth is today was nowt out the ordinary these days. Our patient, passing approach slowly but surely breaking down opponents. From whatever level.
MOTM? Choose one from several. Again. Which is a tribute to the team ethic I/we love so much.
Something really special's happening at our football club this season...
Yes Chris but they do have influential players injured - read their forum for the detail.

Wellens called us a non league team in a non league ground in his post match interview... very Disrespectful I thought, and if he spoke to his team about us that way, it's no surprise they came out in cruise mode... was glad we won after hearing his interview..

With some of their rough tactics I thought they played more like a poor non-league team

Listening to that fool, it immediately brought to mind 'this guy is sounding like Sheridan'.
An absolute embarrassing post match interview by Bitchy Bellends. Obviously didn't bother doing his homework on us and fully expected to roll up to a non league team at a non league ground and win and then wipes his hands of any blame. Joker

He was being very mardy and sour grapes at us. At least Portsmouth manager gave us the respect. He thinks because they are a bigger club they have a right to win. Hope he loses more than he wins.

I agree, I;m really surprised reading some of the comments on here saying we didn't play well and didn't look up for it. We were playing a mid table league 1 side, not a NL team from below us. I honestly think some people judge our performances purely on goals scored.
I saw two well organised teams, trying to play decent football, but who both come up against well organised teams intent on not giving the opposition any space or time on the ball in their half.
We battled well, limited them to half chances and tried to create where possible, it was a solid team performance, even was over a 1/3 of the team were subbed, the players that came on played their part and did well, too.

Mandeville and Sheckleford got in great positions during the 1st half without finding that killer ball
Apart from the start of the 2nd half when they put on Piggott and Pratley, they never really threatened, and we comfortably won the game IMO.
