What a squad he had at Wigan though to win the league, including Will Grigg, Michael Jacobs, Sam Morsy, Ryan Colclough, Craig Davies..

Even he couldn’t eff that up!

He used to have a quiet pint in Nellie’s early on a Friday night.
Fellow pupils at Netherthorpe will know where I’m on about.

Hi Ron, who are you referring please?

Earlier Roy Poole was mentioned, was he a relative of Terry Poole who came from Spike and returned for an event where I got his autograph in the early 70's I think. He was playing in the first division at the time and so it was quite a big deal for us. Nellie's was run by my friend's Grandma Nellie's Kelly I believe, cheers Paul.

Saw Albert Holmes drafted up front very effectively in mid 1960,s. 👍👍😁😁

Yeah, very versatile was our Albert, club records show that he wore the number 8 shirt in some games one season - and scored several goals!

Sorry, was responding to a post about John Osborne.
I saw him a few times just having a quiet pint in Nellie’s.
Me and some mates in school uniform and some craggy miners spitting in the fire. Nice.

Nellies a bit before my time, we used to go up to the Corner Pin, bit more up market than Nellies but similar clientele!

I seem to remember our very own Mr. Dependable the great Jamie Hewitt being decent between the sticks whenever he was called upon.

I was at the Swindon game when he went in goal and provided mini heroics to save a point I think it was. The same game as Daz Carr was sent off for having at pop at the Swindon fans on the far side.

Haha good old Darren Carr. It's a good thing he didn't have a car cigar lighter with him that day lol. That's for anyone that's heard the story about Daz, the cigar lighter and Chris Perkins thigh!

Same here. Although I’m fairly certain Nellies had gone anyway by the time I was there.

Nellies was the New Inn, is that right?

2/3 of them want him out.

Possession in your own half with no forward movement. No attacking intent. Front line none existent, midfield pedestrian.

Hmm, sounds so familiar.

Total fraud of a man - happy to take money from a trust run club while taking no responsibility for the disaster he’s unleashed on a third football club in a row.
A new hope.

He'll carry on doing his thing until he's exhausted all avenues regarding a pay off. Those who give him employment must be mad or simply looking at his time at Wigan because they can't be taking notice of the rest of his CV.

I don’t even remember having possession in our own half under him

Just looked at his stats for us. Just over 10% win rate.

Lester who took over his pathetic squad AND lost Hird and Evo to injury had 24%.

Gives some context to just how bad Caldwell really is

Caldwell is a lucky so and so because with his reputation for losing, the only gig he'd likely get is that of General in the Italian army but he keeps getting another punt as manager. How can he keep getting job after job with fail after fail on his CV.

He’s a blagger, and a good one at that. He got sacked from Wigan but span it as I got them up and then didn’t get the backing to compete in the championship- but look I’ve done a PowerPoint presentation and have a piece on each player and where they can improve, look Ashley I will show you….

Patrick, I did well at Wigan but ……..and chesterfield was a club in tailspin and I wasn’t backed enough to save them….but look I’ve got a presentation on your squad and each players strengths and weakness…have a look

Exeter….I got Wigan promotors but……chesterfield we’re in a tailspin and I wasn’t backed….Patrick were skint and on a downward slide and I wasn’t backed…..but I’ve got a presentation on Exeter, each players strengths and weakness and a piece on how to coach young players and prepare them for the men’s game….have a look

A Blagger, a fraud and lost at home today to fellow strugglers Port Valr.

No doubt his next interview will be Exeter didn’t back me in the close season transfer window…. But I’ve done a presentation …..have a look….
A new hope.
