One or two snippets saying he’s going but nothing official.

There was a Price of Football interview with the head of Exeter’s Supporters’ Trust, which owns the club. He kept stressing that the club doesn’t think of sacking managers as everything else is in place for them to succeed in the long run. They may just have found the man to test that ideology to breaking point.
These go to eleven.

11 losses in 13. Gone from top 5 to bottom 5 in 2 months.

And he doesn’t think his job is under threat?

The man is a bigger fraud than Saunders

If they keep him all season and go down- thinking they are punching above their weight and keep for the next season then lump on for them going down again. It may be too late for this season, but not for next.
A new hope.

I used to know someone like him,and he could really talk a good talk, but was useless when he got into the job. No honeymoon period with him, he was full on toss from day one. He's got more pension providers than a coach trip full of 70 year olds😂.

Wonder if he will put in a bid for Chris O’Grady and that useless Scottish lump we had on loan from Preston 😂

He’s gonna move away from spending in their development programme to signing over the hill over paid has Beens - he’s gonna absolutely ruin that club.
A new hope.

I may not be a football manager, but I have played and watched the game for over sixty years, and I can honestly say, Caldwell is one of the worst managers I've seen perform at league level. Some of the managers I've seen bring National League teams to Town, and with minimal budgets, could teach Caldwell a few things about playing the game, I don't count Solihull by the way,the right way. I wouldn't give him a job managing a subuteo team.

I’ve been listening to that episode and the Club President (I think he is) comes across well, sensible, level-headed, pragmatic, down to earth etc and says all the right things about how to support a manager even if results aren’t going well. However, my brain kept screaming “It’s Caldwell” so the things they were saying simply don’t apply. If they don’t get rid soon I can see Exeter dropping straight back through into non-league again.
These go to eleven.

Yeah Julian Tagg. I know what you mean about being almost refreshingly supportive, I just think they underestimate how damaging it could all be. I kinda want Exeter to do well, properly run and seem like a nice club and so I was hoping that they would do badly in order to quickly get rid of him and give themselves a chance again. But it sounds like he'd stay even if relegated and so I agree with you that he could take them down to NL. I feel like some of their fans are starting to only partially see the light (ie...man the chesterfield fans were right, he may end up taking us down)....but the warning is...na he will take you down and down again!

They won't keep him long enough to do that much damage. My prediction is he'll be gone by the end of January.

Each time he gets the push, he gets a pay off, and each time someone else falls under his spell, so it can all happen again. Don't those about to employ him even bother to look at his history as a manager? They'll rightly have a player they want, gone over with a fine tooth comb, but our Gary turns up, and caution goes straight out the window. It's as though, to chairmen, he's the football equivalent of the Cadbury's Milk Tray Man, only he doesn't deliver.
