Again, for the yellow stain that isn’t a negative.

Paul Cox, Calvin Andrews and Matt Rhead are legends on their side of the M1.

Your applying our standards and expectations on the yellow stain. We see L1 as our natural home. The stain haven’t seen league one since 2002and that was one season. Before that was 1992 relegation. Since 1993 the yellow stain have had just one season above the EFL basement. In 30 years, 1 season above the EFL basement.

For what it's worth, the Billy Dearden who delivered their one laughably brief third tier season in more than a quarter century is a regular at Town games...

I'm not sure I understand the fascination with Caldwell. I get he was once our manager and he wasn't very good but we've had loads of those. Personally I don't care what he does and how he does it.

He and Saunders were the worst of the worst. Conceited and incompetent and made zero attempt to connect with the town/fanbase. Although ultimate responsibility for our demise lay with those above, this pair will forever hold my utter contempt.

Yeah I get that but I don’t understand why he would have his own thread which to be honest, is converted by quite a few folk.

Personally I’d rather forget them.

I think its just how horrendously bad he was with us. He was our manager for 8 months from Jan 2017 to Sept 2017, so at least we got a couple of months of off season where we didnt have to put up with his management on the pitch!! In 29 games he managed to get us 3 wins...3! They were a 90th min winner from Reece Mitchell to win 1-0 at Swindon, 1-0 win at home to Port Vale and then before he got binned he got us another over Port Vale at home...Port Vale must have been crap!! He lost 18 matches out of the 29...over 60% of the matches he managed us in! We only managed 25 goals in the 29 games, conceding 58!

But, worst still, he repeatedly told us "that's how to play winning football"!!!!

I'm sure there will be a shortage of wigs in the Exeter area, because Caldwell had me pulling my hair out in clumps.
Can't we get him at, you know where?

He deserves his own thread as he still thinks he is a worthwhile manager whereas Saunders gave up on that idea ages ago, although he still occasionally shares his wisdom as a pundit

Six league losses in a row now. Normal service inevitably resumed.

There’s a poll just appeared on their forum as to whether to punt the clown, with the majority currently in favour. Decent club so I hope for their sake they get rid soon.

I've been listening to the My New Football Club podcast (it won't be for everyone, but I like it). It's been a funny and strange experience listening to the initial hype, knowing as we do what was to come. I do agree with others to some extent, of the notion of "why should we care?" but I can't deny keeping tabs on the situation particularly on how he's being received. If I didn't listen to the pod, then I probably wouldn't keep as close an eye on things, mind. They seem like a really well run football club and one I wish quite well to be fair, so it might be a good thing for things to get as worse as possible to expedite the inevitable and give them another crack at getting a suitable manager.

I'd like him to 'earn' another relegation so might have to put my goodwill towards Exeter in general to one side. 9/2 now for relegation, wish I'd got on when they were top.

His side last night were the worst side I’ve seen since Gary Caldwell’s Chesterfield. They were that bad.

Good old Gary, I knew he wouldn't let me down. I told my brother he was just warming up before heading downwards. He must be better at talking bovine effluent than a coach trip full of Tory MP's, because I can't think of any other way he gets jobs.

Is that 7 defeats in 8?

There poll on their site on whether he should be sacked is now just about 50/50 but there is still a lot of love for him

He inherited a really good side, we shouldn’t expect him to turn that round in an instant

I listened to that podcast for a fair while but since they started fawning over Caldwell I hadn’t listened. I just put on the last couple today and it seems the pattern is very similar to how it was with us- other teams have figured out the Caldwell style and he is not adapting. Lots of passing across the back, lots of early goals conceded. The only way is down.

Tbh I thought the pattern with us was that Caldwell was just garbage!

Have to say I’m stunned at Exeters start to the season under Caldwell.

There was also a remarkable stat - something like 400 consecutive games where the side has has a player on the pitch from the clubs acadamy

Normal service resumed. 1 point and 1 place above the relegation zone after losing to Fleetwood

Makes Dean Saunders look like Pep
A new hope.
