I’ve been told Ibe did leave Portugal early, but not because of his fitness and certainly not because of his footballing ability. More to do with his battle with mental health. But cook is apparently desperate for him to sign as he was head and shoulders above everyone else.

Just going back to this and I have no idea how true or not it is but if it is that’s extremely worrying. Years on from him leaving the game for his mental health and it’s still that poor. Really feel for him.

It's going to be another stressful season isn't it

I’d be more stressed if we were paying em too much.

Personally I’d invest more in the youth set up rather than trying to outbid our rivals on wages for (let’s face it) non league standard players.

We were in league 1 not long ago, now we’re stressing about an average player going to Oldham, just because they’ve offered him a few grand more.

Let the rivals bankrupt themselves, let’s get scouts into the even lower leagues and find players that way instead of non league mercenaries acting like big time Charlie’s.

Let’s also send scouts round local schools, amateur football, etc (proper scouting system) bring the best players into the club at a young age and get some pride in the badge again, have players who love the club and not the wage packet, tie them to long term contracts. Obviously they’ll leave at some point but we’ll pick up plenty in transfer fees and we won’t begrudge them a big move.

Fact is Dallas is farting the club around, takin the wotsit. Is he really bigger than CFC because he obviously thinks he is and if he’s after yet more money then let Oldham have him.
Let me in!

Where’s all their cash come from??

Raglan will have been on less at Cheltenham than someone like Maguire is on here. No money involved with signing Raglan

So you're happy with another year in the Sh**hole league with comedy refs and dirty teams ?

Oh absolutely, nothing beats an academy lad coming through and establishing himself. My stress comment was more about this season on the pitch - don’t fancy another day out at Wembley if I’m honest

Not sure that’s a marquee signing, ok yes but …..

60 games for Cheltenham in the last 2 seasons with 50ish of them in League One. Still only 30. He will be very decent at this level.

It’s in our own hands so to say. I think our biggest opponents is ourselves and dropping points at home to the likes of Maidenhead and Dagenhams of this league.

Sort the home form out, keep similar away form to last year and we will the league with 90+/100+ points

Spot on.

This just sounds very bitter.
The thing is, I agree with the sentiment.

Is that where all this Dallas stuff has come from!?

I did find it strange that Pete O'Rourke hasn't said anything, he always seems to be first on Dallas news so I assume he's got his agent as a contact.

Time will tell I guess.

We used to say the same thing in league 1 and 2 pal.

Id invest in youth even if we’d won at Wembley.

Remember Roy Macfarland, he had buttons to play with and kept us in league 1 finding talent like Caleb Folan, Jamie Macmaster, etc, and he knew how to develop talent, coaches can still do that these days, it’s all spend, spend, spend and it’s getting out of proportion.

Let’s see what Cook can do with youth, let’s see if he can make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Let’s see what he can do with 16/17 year olds, keen to learn and develop. Id rather have a hungry young player with some pride in the shirt not some Mr Big Shot who thinks he’s better than the club because he’s able to hold us to random, really are we that desperate that we have to compete with the likes of Oldham, if they want to pay silly money for a bang average player then let em.

Mate don’t stress, we could spend a fortune and it’ll be equally stressful if not more, think of the pressure on the board, manager, players, etc if we’re spending beyond our means.

Spending £ don’t guarantee success it increases pressure, I’d rather lose at Wembley with a team of youngsters trying their best rather than a bunch of mercenaries thinking about their next pay check.

Bit of a Fred Dibnah type isn't he?

Lives on the Moors, making steam powered 4x4s and rowed the Atlantic.

Like us, they have the fan base to sustain a top budget at this level.

The completely mental thing about this entire Dallas saga is you’d still not be suprised if he ended up somewhere else(us included) after all this too-ing and fro-ing.

It’s been a right saga

Oldham are this season’s team to hate then. Reading their tweets you have to congratulate them on already having the league wrapped up with a forward line of - Nuttall,Fondop,Reid and an untested national league Willoughby. Will have to hope Dallas hits 30+ for them next season playing anti football with their bog standard manager.

Maybe we might get the last laugh for once this time around….or maybe they’ll actually go and fluke it and keep us in this league for the foreseeable. That wouldnt surprise me, I have this horrible feeling we will be stuck here forever.

What on earth?

They're making good signings, so are we.
They're going for it, so are we.

I couldn’t agree more. We have an unbelievably talented group of players and that was before the signings of Grigg and Naylor. When did Charlie Raglan become such a good player? I must have missed that.
